I’m in air b&b I’ve traveled on train no car . The kitchen is shared by 9 residents. So I’ve taken all precooked food. My water bottle leaked and wetted everything thoroughly. I’ve had oven dried hummus and salad wraps . Went from soggy disaster to the best wraps ever. Never throw away food.

I was cooking pork steaks while watching/listening to this video as I missed it earlier. Guess what I added the Dijon mustard and made the sauce instead of the gravy I had planned . I had it with new potatoes from my garden broccoli and savoy cabbage. Yummy. I love watching your cooking videos they always inspire me.

I am suffering from cooking fatigue this week, so seeing your ideas has really helped. I haven't had a minced beef pie in ages, was one of my Nan's specialities. I just dug out a piece of beef brisket from the freezer, so that will go in the slow cooker tomorrow with tomatoes and Italian herbs, garlic, etc and should make meals for a couple of days, especially with pasta/potatoes, so that's two days of not having to think too much! Really like the idea of leek and cheese scones, we've successfully grown a lot of leeks this year.

we are eating down the freezer to make room for some Christmas produce, so it was homemade burgers for us too this week. Had a chicken & mushroom pasta bake one night, and family favourite, sausage, mash & onion gravy. About the only thing I like about Winter is the warming comfort food. We also love a bowl of homemade soup - great food both 🙂

I absolutely love soup. In fact: It’s a little ridiculous how much I love soup! I get that from my Dad I guess. Mom didn’t serve it much at home, because we were farmers back in the ‘60s when so many more of the chores were muscle-and-grunt work than they are nowadays; and she didn’t think soup sufficient to fuel all those very hardworking hours. Dad counted “having home made soup on the regular” as one of the blessings of his retirement!

It all looks absolutely delicious. I was wondering if you had made a video on making scones, because I just can't get them right and yours look so good. Just the plain ones would be ok, because the cheese is a problem for me. I checked out leeks at our local store and they wanted six dollars for three very pathetic ones (ends all brown and yellow.) I know they are discarded anyway, but it still seemed a steep price for something obviously not fresh.

I wondered what a “full Monty” (in the kitchen) was! The only other time I’ve ever heard that expression is referring to the movie - it meant something quite different in that context! ;) Your meals look absolutely delicious. I’m using frozen veggies for the rest of the month because we had a small unexpected expense and I decided to take it from the grocery budget rather than savings. So, no fresh veggies for a while. They look so good on your plates that I‘ve decided not to feel deprived over it! lol
