@@spacecoastmealworms Well... I've just tried some different distances stacking planks of plexi and I had a solution in 15 minutes that works... You simply take the biggest worm and add a little more. I mean - I know you want to sell your thing but when people buy it it's not a secret anymore so I would not consider that much of a secret. Since we have a company too... we have some secrets too. But not the kind of secrets people can know with a ruller ;) Keep it rockin. Looks like people love your sifter. I just can't assume 35$ US of shipping. 20+35 is over 75$ CAD for me.

I have had one of these trays for about a year and a half and love it. Made my life so much easier. I did need to tie a couple pieces of string to it so I could remove it from the bucket. The only other thing I would add are slots near the edge for worms to crawl through (it would look like a gear kinda) I find some of the worms move to the side of the try then walk the perimeter of the sifter. Not a huge issue just means I have to shake it a bit more.

Just got mine yesterday, used it for the first time an hour ago......already lost the small tool :D I did notice that the sifter bottoms out on the metal grate. I have the same issue you had at 2:22 where I could not get the tool into it's slot.

@@spacecoastmealworms if the whole thing was jus a little bit bigger so it doesn’t have the ability to slide all the way down and bottom out, that would help. The sifter will “float” a bit above the bottom. The problem is the screen of the green tray, it higher in the center.

great question! I gather them in buckets until they're full, then I throw the wooden ones in my fire pit and currently have been bagging up the acrylic pieces for the trash. Would love to find a way to repurpose them somehow, since I create a bucketful or two every month!

Have you ever thought of making a pupea sorter for the smaller pupea. I am legally blind and love doing the mealworms. But I have to get sooooo close to sort out the pupea. Well actually I'm close to all of it.😁 I won't stop just because I'm blind.

You really shouldn’t have smaller pupae if the farming conditions are right.

Have you ever counted? For example, how many worms will be born from 1000 beetles?

Counting them is usually done by estimating. Count out 100 a couple times and get an average weight. Then weigh all your worms, dividing that weight by your 100 worm weight.
