Sabrina and Reneè’s voices in the same film? No disrespect to Angourie, but as a mega fan of both Sabrina and Reneè, my blonde pop girlies, even despite Sabrina only starting as Cady in two productions due to the COVID 19 shutdown… I just feel like having cast her in this film instead would not have only given her a second chance to play Cady… but I think that the draw for Gen Z fans would’ve been a bittt stronger... And again, no disrespect, but I gotta be honest, I have no idea who Bebe Wood is (?)… And as for the chosen Karen, I’ve only ever seen her in one other movie (the remake of the 1996 film The Craft, called The Craft Legacy…) That being said, she seems like a big part of the comedic relief of the film. Maybe I’m just an old millennial who grew up on the 2004 version (I was literally twelve then, and I was a massive Lindsay Lohan fan). I’m mostly going to see it, no matter how bad or goofy it may turn out, to thrist the fuck over Miss Reneè Jane Rapp… IF AND WHEN, it hits the movie theater I work at, it’ll be free for me! Fingers crossed that the my lame ass suburban cinema will announce Mean Girl showtime dates!

~ short explainer / production history for anyone wondering why they changed the last names of karen and janis ~ the act of changing last names that was done for the movie follows the naming choice in the broadway production where they changed the last names closer to the heritage of the actor. one example is how there was one show where the kevin actor wasn't onstage for the night so one of the swings covered the track and since he's not poc they temporarily changed kevin's last name for that show.

After reading the comments, I see there is a need for clarity. THIS is NOT a combination of the first movie. Nor is this a sequel, as a sequel occurred in 2011 in which no one returned as original cast other then the principal, Tim Meadows. The second thing to note, this is a screen adaption of the BROADWAY MUSICAL to film. The story of MEAN GIRLS is always the same. Young, Innocent Girl Infiltrates a clique and becomes like them instead of corrupting them. To compare this MEAN GIRLS (2024) to its predecessor (2004) would be a work of foolishness and bias. As each cast obviously was selected because they were the best for their time, now, a 20 year difference! How will this movie hold up in connection with the innovativeness that made the first film classic? And can we keep that same dynamic spirit alive without political agendas that saturate the FILTH in the MOVIE INDUSTRY in 2024? Will this movie be able to adapt to screen from a broadway musical or will it be another DEAR EVAN HASEN FLOP? TIME will tell, but I have one powerful review coming up on it! MEAN GIRLS COMES INTO THEATERS TOMORROW FOR A SPECIAL OPENING IN A THEATER NEAR YOU! BEST WISHES GUYS !
