I ran one for csx back in 07-08-09 It was a 07 model so it was brand new. Still had the plastic on the seats. I tamped solid from Huntington West Virginia to Charleston wv. And all over. Enjoyed my time in it. The crazier thing is that this was the first tamper I had ever ran. Years later to now I am still involved with surfacing. I am a superintendent now. Been training a guy on a 6700 the last few weeks. I love all tampers. Specially the mark 4 and dyna cat

That's very interesting. I am also into training surfacing crews these days. It's a great job- it's like working without having to do any actual work :)

My kid got a tour of one of these just recently whilst we were waiting to catch a train that was late and even the engineer showed him him programming it for some work that night. Needless to say, dad jumped in the cab right behind him LOL!

From Plasser Australia I assume? I've gone from working on these things to creating the training programs for the mechanics and operators for all MOW equipment. It's a good job, I get paid good money to do mostly nothing :)
