Learning to hit a driver is a real journey. I struggled for a long time and the thing that helped me was in my setup and backswing. When I setup, I start from my grip and theres a sequence. Grip, stance with feet together, address the bal slightly towards toe, rotate left toe slightly, step with right foot. Thats where I started to solve it. When I step with my right foot, clubhead is at center and I keep it while I step. THEN I tilt. Clubhead lofted and centers on the ball. When I make my backswing, I hold that tilt and rotate back. As I transition, I maintain that and Im starting my swing with it loaded and it brings my club face right into square with the ball. When the strike comes, Im hitting up and square and I rarely slice anymore. If I do, its because I lost focus. What it does is automatically gets my clubhead in to out. I dont have to think about being able to "shallow" it at all. Im 65 and if I sequence correctly I can usually get 225 yards carry. Holding that tilt made it work for me.

I thought this was gonna be about pumping Andy’s numbers up 😄 that’d be a fun one. Big thing for adding speed is spinal erector/core exercises and then learning to grip the ground with feet and use legs to torque/force your body around. All around strength and fitness is good for health and swing speed really but those are a specific muscle group that I think is the factor in cranking up my numbers.

You did a session with another guy using the extended method. I watched it over and over again. I took it to the course and now I have just about come to the point where the slice has left. I still get one every now and then but for the most part, i'm going straighter and hitting more of a draw. If I do all I am supposed to do, playing from the fairway makes golf a nicer game.

Really enjoyed the process looks like Andy over the course of the video has probably increased his speed, think alot of golfers me included don't swing flat out. I tried emulating the swing speed exercises, just using my driver swinging full and flat out, did three sets of 10 tinkering with it to maintain a balanced swing and maximum speed. Then tried the method with balls into my practice nett and sound centered hits I'm really keen to take this to the range

1st off, and I'm sure your test subject agrees, swinging the club and getting more yards isn't easy. It takes effort. I've watch many videos hoping to find the "effortless" fountain of swing. So I watched this video. The Visual of moving everything back and up in sync and not bending your arms is great. Effortless, not! Your test subject in the speed training part of the video shows that it's work. However, for me, the end results are more yards and less slice with more effort. Totally worth the effort. Thanks Andy and Pierce

Hey gents. Would you honestly not think that encouraging a super fast swing (by using the speed sticks) whilst having a swing that you’re trying to change would be detrimental?
@rickroll90863 жыл бұрын
If they thought that it was detrimental, then they wouldn’t be making a series of 3 videos on it. The point is to add 30 yards….and the swing change isn’t that difficult. If you’re going to dive a ball 30 yards further you have to up the swing speed by about 10mph.

nice ad disguised as a golf lesson, lol. you didn't even address him entirely shifting off the ball in his backswing and not re-centering, the most obvious cause of him flipping at the ball (not his quick hinge). also, equating swing speed of the swing sticks (which i even have, i won't hate on them too much) with an actual club as a comparison, lol. you guys are better than this.
