is this aid supposed to show what the club looks like or should be pointing at at point of contact or the downswing, or even at the right hip before releasing the club?

I could listen to Leadbetter on golf swing all day, just simplifies things perfectly. None of the bullshit you hear from so many coaches now who seem obsessed with the need to spout fancy words and descriptions to prove how much knowledge they have. Leadbetter is the OG - you can see how much he has influenced Piers and Andy in their coaching! Class.

This was my first purchase when I really started teaching myself how to swing. It works and is a great tool to teach what the takeaway should look like. I just have to keep myself from reverting back to old ways from time to time, but this is the best way I have found to start the swing. If it doesn't start correct, then it is hard to finish correct. Just love when the coaches seek coaching for themselves and share it with the rest of us. Thanks guys...

Great video! Andy was mad to go to Foley instead of Lead! Unrelated to your channel, but I thought the video lesson which Garrett (Good good) had with Lead was a masterclass in how good a coach he is - simple & incredibly effective.

I’ve come back to this video several times now and it’s really helped me to tidied up my takeaway. Ball striking is much more consistent. The drill of starting the swing ala Moe Norman is fantastic. Thank you and Mr Ledbetter for the video.
@Reffitt2 Жыл бұрын
Mr. Ledbetter is a master of the golf swing. Everything explained so simply, easy to understand, and impossible to argue against the results. That one simple little change took Piers' already good swing to the next level. It's amazing how much one tiny change can have such profound effects on the swing and, therefore, the ball and it's results.

I guess I still don't understand the completion of the backswing from this point. Is it simply holding the hands in that position and just rotating around the body or am I missing something else? Seems like that's all you do and et it collapse a little at the top as you change directions of the rotation

Love when David talks about teaching people to be their own best coach. There are so many people these days that waste so much money on instructors.....and learn little...because they are still far too new to golf to use coaches in any kind of intensive way. Good money for instructors, though....lol. It's a goldmine these days. And even better when people get addicted to instructors, rather than to thinking through their own game.

This is a great place. Have played the courses there, except the Nicklaus course. Used to be the Annika Academy. Looks like it is in good hands. As for the device, I was at a driving range and someone was using the Straight Away. One of the things I noticed was that the golfer seemed to be concentrating too much on keeping the wrists too rigid. Therefore the golfer’s swing looked too stiff and his shots were not good.. In my opinion, looking at this video or combine it with a lesson with a golf teacher would make this product work.

About time that golf teachers started offering the complete (including equipment changes) alternative swing style / system of Bryson DeChambeau. Most normal humans just can’t or have the time to master the traditional lower hand multi plane traditional system. Many older golfers are better off sacrificing some distance for more accuracy to enjoy and compete.

well, no. looks terrible. at address the hands are on top of the club and if they are not on top of the club when the club is parallel to the target line the clubface has closed. the old idea of keeping the butt end of the club aligned with the belly is wrong and leadbetter's method is wrong. the heel pad of the left hand should press forwards- just as it does in the waggle- when the club is parallel to the target line. as hogan says in the 2nd of five lessons: "the backswing does not alter the pattern of the waggle"
