Dubbed as ‘the greatest audition of all time'. The performance was so astounding that Queen themselves posted a video of the teen singing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on their twitter page with the caption: "Wow! What a rendition! And in an even more extraordinary turn of events, Queen then gave Angelina their blessing to record her own version of the song by releasing the copyright to her❗️

The reason she didn't win is mainly due to her and her family refusing to sign and accept the contract they wanted her to sign. Queen contacted her and gave her the copyright to that version. May was very impressed.

@@jerryfoust3860 The Ashley read through the entire 45-page contract so you wouldn’t have to and pulled out some other juicy tidbits she thought you’d enjoy: Producers or NBC can force a contestant to participate in an additional reality show for up to one year after they appear on ‘AGT.’ Contestants may not go on any other reality show for a year after taping ends. If an act is disqualified, “Producer and the Network may make any explanation or announcement, on-air or otherwise…as to the reason why.” (So basically, they can say tell the public whatever they want about why the act was disqualified…even if it’s not true.) Camera crews from the show can follow contestants anywhere they want- even into the bathroom! Contestants must agree to allow cameras into “any other area in which a person under other circumstances might have a reasonable expectation of privacy.” If the voting system “fails,” producers get to decide which contestants advance and which ones get sent home. Contestants may not challenge the producers’ decision. Producers may disqualify a contestant for “no reason at all.” Producers can also disqualify them if they decline to sign any other documents that the producers may come up with at a later date. Contestants are not allowed to take any personal photos during the show without getting permission from the producers. Despite the fact that they must essentially “sign their lives away” to the network if they are chosen, hordes of people continue to audition for the show in a quest for fame.

IMHO her version of Goodbye yellow brick road..... sung later on this show was her way of expressing the distaste for the music promotion industry..... in particular to how it meant she could not actually place above a prescribed level at this AGT Championships due to contract stuff.

But all reality and Talent shows are all rigged as you can find stories about it from other Contestants. There is Big money to be made in Contracts for the show. Had she signed them AGT would have owned her for a year and she would have had to do anything they wanted her to do. I mean anything.

Absolutely amazing audition from Angelina not just vocally but Angelina always arranges everything herself, after this performance Angelina received a tribute message from Brian May and Roger Taylor congratulating Angelina on an absolutely amazing performance, and the guy’s from Queen gave Angelina the copyright to her arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, also this performance has been viewed over 100 million times, Angelina also received the Golden Buzzer and straight to the final of the show, there’s a rumour that Angelina didn’t win the show as her family wouldn’t sign with Cowell, i am glad she didn’t sign with Cowell as Angelina signed with Republic Records aged 14 years old and RR have allowed Angelina the freedom to flush in her own way, Angelina’s pianist is Award winning Rob Christie the musical Director of Republic Records and is in Angelina’s latest music videos , also Angelina’s Grandma who is a famous artist is involved with production and Angelina’s uncle is her manager, great reaction thanks 🙏

She did get Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer for this performance. She seems to hone in on what will bring out the most emotion in her listeners. She has said that “singing is like breathing” for her and that she has always believed in herself. Her grandmother is a fairly famous Iranian painter who was a recognized talent when she was very young. Her mother is also very protective of her, requiring her to complete her schooling like everyone else and rejecting almost all opportunities to make deals with big entertainment companies. From left to right Her uncle and manager Michael Astar, her little sister Juliette, her mother Sarah Astar and her grandmother Mery Zamani. Notice her little sister crossing her fingers as the performance starts and later her mother wipe tears from her eyes. Also remember she said she had waited 10 years to sing for Simon. Angelina went on the show with the idea that she may not win because of contract issues. The family knew they had some plans for her future and many many contracts have been turned down since she was 8. Even knowing this they decided they wanted to introduced her to the American people, (yes she sang on the view at 8 years old but who would watch the view anyway) she sang her 3 songs and without the contract that's as far as she could go, but she did what she set out to do. In less than a year after she had signed on with Republic Records and the CEO personally signed the contract after hearing her even with the strict conditions the family had for Angelina's future,, Republic knows they signed a Super Star! I hope they allow her to make her music and not just push for a quick buck and I hope AJ stays the same and not get pulled down into the industry. We Don't want her to end up like Whitney, Amy, Prince, MJ, Elvis, and many many others,,, I'd love to see her in concert but not at the expense of her life or her health,,

robert There were no contract issues. Uncle Mike negotiated a contract that he deemed satisfactory where Angelina would be freed of any obligations (to a management company or record label) if she performed. The contract was signed. Anything else you read is just the ravings of fans who were disgruntled that she didn't win and try to concoct some story to rationalize it, often in the manner of some kind of conspiracy theory.

Angelina Jordan Astar has the ability to create ballads of pure and simple beauty. Angelina did not advance into the last half of the show. Winning AGT is conditional upon her signing under an AGT designated label. This obligates the artist to be virtually owned by the label, both in the songs she sings and in their production schedule. Angelina even turned down Disney. There was some furor over her being dropped from the final competitions that was raised online and television new channels. Angelina (14) did sign with a label later that year. Republic Records shared her vision for her music. They gave her complete artistic control along with the control for the timing of her releases. Although we see a lot of Angelina performing throughout the years, she's still in school. She will graduate from high school in 2023, at the age of 17. From then on, she will fully enter into her professional career.

This wasn't really a talent show for AJ, it was an audition to the major recording companies to show boat her fabulous ability and she succeeded in getting a recording contract with Republic Records in the end.

Here is an extract: “Tell us a bit about how you used the momentum received for Angelina after ATG, and how you reached so many through the show?” “Well, after the NGT (Norway Got Talent) a lot of things happened, like from every corner. People wanted to be a part of it and started to discretely fly into Norway to try to be part of the team. We are talking about huge names, they would come in private jets and make it look like you can have it all and then you see their contract and be like, nah man, this is not a gimmick, this is the real deal, with all due respect, we gotta pass on this one, and they would be furious, because they never heard someone deny them or don’t get what they want, especially when there was an extreme amount of money involved.” America Got TalentAGT (America Got Talent) had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Astar says that it didn’t matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of question to give away that right. “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs, she is great for their TV show and Angelina will get the exposure she needs to breakthrough, because I knew, the talent is one of the kind like no other, I just needed her to be seen and was on a daily hunt for how to get the right spot for her in the USA.”

The format of the show dictates the time constraint she had to work with. How would you pare down that 6+ minutes song to fit into slightly more than two minutes? Before this aired I had heard she was going to be doing this song to open her competition. Even after listening to her for several years, I was really worried about how she could possibly do it. Silly me. I'm not the genius, she is.

she did not win...... but IMHO that was a contractual thing. They (family) probably refused to allow it cause they don't want the trapped in required contractual agreements tied to winning. AKA if you win you HAVE to sign with promotion company Simon is tied too. IMHO the song she did later in show (goodbye yellow brick road) was about that issue..... and how it made her feel. She didn't even finish in the money, ending up in 6th place! Which is totally understandable. This was an international competetition with efforts in the respective countries to get out the vote. The results had very little to do with talent.
