The defining sound of Bluegrass arguably is the banjo. Never heard this tune till now. I believe her playing kept the fire going in the fireplace. The wonderful guitar playing kept the tune mellowed out.

Anti Hendrix comments...ya'll for wax on b your ears? You realize he played guitar for only 12 years before dying? If only we had been lucky enough to get a longer life and a bigger body of work from him. Your commenting on about 3.5 years of the 12 years that he played. Because that's all you've been able to hear. If you search hard you can find bits and pieces more. In my opinion, nobody has ever, and probably will never, master the art of electric guitar playing like he did. And he himself said, "I don't play guitar, I play the amplifier. " A true showman and one of a kind. And yet I can think of many guitar players that are much quicker, dexterous, versatile. Jimi is but one player, but no one has come close to the sound he created. Django has hundreds of protégés doing amazing things. Jazz guitar alone has a history deep as the deepest mine. Acoustic blues fingerstyle like blind blake again, another category. But there was only one Hendrix. Put that hendrix hate away cause I find it lacking knowledge of the big picture

I would hesitate to call it bluegrass, it's more Bela Fleck meets Rodrigo and Gabriella. You DO know that the banjo was used for a very long time as a parlor instrument playing classical style music, just because there is a banjo in something certainly doesnt make it bluegrass, and playing a banjo fast also does not make it bluegrass. I'm not here to shit on anyone i promise.

Excellent music. Mary's fingers are quick and agile on the banjo. Reminds me of watching Roy Clark back in the old days. Mary's accompanying guitarist is excellent also. These two are so much better than most of what you will hear on the radio these days.
