I've never heard of it (I'm in the UK). It sounds absolutely bloody disgusting! I'm glad my youngest is coming home this year to join hubby, me and our number 3 son. It gave us the excuse to buy a turkey - mainly because we have a tradition of me making leek and potato soup with turkey and maybe smoked ham on Boxing Day, using the carcass to make the stock. I did it first because we didn't have any money and I needed to make that turkey last 😂 The kids loved it so much that ever since, guess what I end up doing for Boxing Day! When they were all leaving home (all 4 are close in age, some were already gone, the last was in her final high-school year getting ready for uni) I made them a cookery book as a Xmas present. All their favourite recipes, some new ones to try out, covering all the bases. I laminated them and put them in a big ring-binder. Naturally, the soup recipe (starting as the plain leek & potato soup with a veggie stock, but showing how to transform it) was included, and when they all received them at the same time, they dived into the soup & sauces section to see if it was there 🤣🤣🤣 Three months of work was worth it! (Over 100 recipes and pages of info about things like potato "breeds" and what they're good for. I typed a _lot_ that year!)
