Good video! I have a Piranha Toothbar and really enjoy it, I think I looked at a similar video someone else did before measuring. My cutting edge was a mess so I beveled a piece of flat stock and welded an addition to the cutting bar. I was concerned about it being too thick but it worked fine. I used my welder when needed to build up the top of the cutting edge were it made contact with the Piranha bar so as to get a snug fit. If my cutting edge had been completely flat this wouldn't had been necessary. I was impressed with how well the step drill bit they recommend works.

Thanks for sharing Douglas! I love hearing the stories of others experiences. Its the best way to learn. Sounds like you are a bit of a fabricator. Yeah those step drill bits are amazing. Well we are heading out for pizza! gotta go catch ya later. Terry.

I was really set on getting this and decided to get a bolt-on teeth kit because I stack a lot of firewood. I switched to 2x4 pallets and clamp on pallet forks would not have worked with this bar. Aside from that, it looks great in the video. The question is, how does it work?
@ForestToFarm5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jason. I bet you could rig a set of clamp on pallet forks that would work in conjunction with the tooth bar. Also it is removable and only requires removing the two screws so there is always that option. The big advantage for you with fire wood would be that you have a longer bottom of the bucket from one end to the other with the tooth bar that would not be the case for the standard bolt on teeth. I am not going to lie to you we have not had a good chance to put it to work in any capacity yet. We did play around with it one day for a bit and it was amazing. Very good investment. Keep an eye out and we will be doing a video, probably several over the coming year(s) showing how well it works. Some with the Piranha and some without for comparison. I think its going to do far better than the bolt on teeth personally based on my limited skid steer experiences having similar teeth. This is the one product I have dealt with that I have not found one person say anything but good about it. That says a lot to me and most people talk very highly of it. Hope this helps a bit. Terry

@@ForestToFarm , Thanks. You are right and I know I will never get rid of them, but hope to thin them out a bunch. Thank you for this information. I like learning new things! What is that particular add on used for exactly?
@ForestToFarm5 жыл бұрын
The original bucket edge is just a straight piece of steel. It does not cut into the dirt very well if at all. This Piranha tooth bar cuts dirt better, will rip small shrubs, brush or small trees out of the ground with ease. Plus it preserves the life of the bucket edge. Terry

Dear Terry, May I inquire what the dickens have you got in mind for your tractor? You merely acquired it a few months back, it's virtually virginal ( well almost!!!); what is that bar designed for??? Very good presentation, maybe next time you're thinking of getting another accessory, perhaps you might suggest to the party concerned that you'll do a free presentation for them in order to get it for almost if not free!!!. very well done. Kind regards.

Ha ha, It strengthens the bucket and also makes it much easier to dig or move piles of dirt or rocks or whatever needs scooping up and moving. Plus its just plain cool! I like free!!! :) We enjoy doing these videos. Terry

@@ForestToFarm Dear Terry, Thank you very much for your courteous & hearted reply. As one who is totally ignorant of heavy equipment, it's good to learn now & again. It would be nice to see a demo with & without to see the difference. Now I guess what's missing is a back hoe, maybe a custom paint job with some go faster flames on the sides. Keep up the good work, now start digging the foundations. Kind regards.

@@ForestToFarm Dear Terry, Thank you for the courteous & hearted reply. if the go faster flames are out of the question; how about bolting a couple of real flame throwers either at the front or back depending on your styles of driving to get rid of the weeds. It's the perfect excuse for doing your meanest baddest renegade M.F ( Master Farmer that is; you were probably thinking of something else weren't you???) routine. A precursor of the monumental task at hand to come if you will. Kind regards.

I recently added a Piranha Tooth Bar to my JD and it works great. I also made a PVC guard that goes over the teeth when not in use. Not to protect the teeth, but to protect me and the grandkids when we're in the barn. Might make a good follow-up video.
@ForestToFarm5 жыл бұрын
Great idea George. That edge could bite for sure. We have thought and talked about needing to make sure its down when not in use but the PVC edge protector would be a great addition. May have to do that and if so we will do a video giving credit to you on the idea! Terry
