First real use of my newly install BXpanded Piranha Tooth bar, pulling a couple small stumps and moving a cut tree. But the main reason I got the toothbar was to rip out all the overgrowth, brush and saplings. It has worked great at pulling the sapling out of the dirt, roots and all. Very happy with the performance for the minimal investment.

A man after my own heart. I have an L series kubota and is developing our beautiful wooded beach front property. I use my backhoe a lot.

Got a tooth bar 3 years ago and it was a tough bill to swallow, especially freighting to Canada, but have not regretted it. It has done a ton of work clearing and digging, and looks as good as the day I put it on. 🙂

You can back up to those larger logs and use the backhoe as a grapple. It's a lot easier than getting off the tractor and loading the bucket by hand.

That soil is beautiful. Here in my area of NC, it's mostly clay. Hard as a rock when dry, slippery as grease when wet, and always dense and heavy. What you have looks so nice it could have come from a plant nursery.

Weld 3 grab hooks onto your bucket and then you can chain the log to you bucket before lifting it.

Thanks for posting this, as I'm considering that tooth bar for trying to rip out some of the 1" and less stuff on my property. It did seem to me that you were twisting your loader arms a good little bit in places. Have you had any issues in the year and a half since you got this?
@LostCauseRanch
@LostCauseRanch 3 жыл бұрын
I haven't noticed any issues yet. I do abuse it for it's size. I can still detach and reattach the loader without too much issue. It has been great in that size. Anything much bigger I just pick it out with the backhoe since I have it.

I've got the BX2680 and it doesn't dig nearly as well as yours with the bar. I do however have a land pride grapple which is nice. I think this bar is going to be my next investment followed by a flail mower

It made a big difference on its digging power, especially since the smaller tractor does not have a lot of weight behind it.

Joe...does the backhoe thumb fold up and out of the way if you don't want to use it?

I'm going to order one next spring. I have a jungle like yours to work on. Is there any problem taking it on and off depending on what you want to with the bucket?

Nope, super simple. Just zip the two side bolts off and it slides off. It takes a couple minutes is all.

nice job Joe. how long did it take to get delivery of the tooth bar? I would drag the box blade through there to level it out. also that looks like some really nice dirt. building your self a super shaker soil sifter like mine would be nice to have. you could run that soil through it and then spread it back out. I love having that thing. anyhow enjoyed the video and subscribed to your channel.

It took exactly a month from order to my door. The nice dirt has been a blessing and a curse, it is awesome for growing, but in turn has also been awesome for stuff that I don't want to grow as well. I'll check out your soil sifter videos.

So why man handle the logs onto the front bucket teeth when you have a perfectly good backhoe that you can pick up the tree and transport it with?

Ground clearance has been an issue in places for me, I have some rough woods. Whenever I go to upgrade to a newer one it will probably be the LX series but I'm in no hurry. The small size works around my house well and mows awesome. It's done some things I wouldn't have thought. The bigger jobs just take a little more time but I'm fine with that, I'm just using it for my projects so there is never really any time crunch.

I have a bx23s. What I'm worried about is when I go back to the factory leading edge I will be stuck with two holes on the side. Where lets say you would get spillage from fine materials? Thanks Mate

I just ordered the tooth bar. I plan on putting some short bolts in place of the holes when I work with sand if need be.

We do have some nice black dirt at this place. I’m guessing the years of leaves not being disturbed is the cause.

Do you have anything protecting your HST fan? If not you should get something before you knock the blades off of it.

I don't at the moment, I realize I'm at a pretty big risk with what I'm doing. Deciding on what route I want to go for that yet. Thanks for the heads up.

Spend about $1500 and turn that BX into an animal. 3rd function valve and a add a grapple. It will keep you in the seat of that tractor and you will be amazed at how much more you get done and how your body feels better at the end of the day bro.

Agreed, I went ahead and got myself a skid loader this year and a grapple for that. Little more brutal than the tractor on the terrain though.
