I know you didn´t used it on this video, but according to my personal experience, rectangular card boxes, for example, can give pretty wrong measurements. I used a whisky empty card box (I had it against a wall and put it down in horizontal position like you did on this video, until reach the top of my head) and the funniest thing was that in the end, when I was about to draw a line with a pencil I could actually lift it some centimeters up with the top of my head. Maybe I did something wrong, or the wall isn´t straight, (or the ground is not even) or this kind box isn´t the best thing to measure height. I only used it because it had enough lenght and a relatively even surface, to make me confortable on while being on a «standing tall position», an accurate at the same time (so that´s why I tried to use it),. This was my experience, I hope that it is helpful for others. Rob Paul objects seem different and maybe his ground and wall, are good for measurements. Just another warning, because I know that some people measure themselves with measuring tape in front of a mirror. Not all mirrors are placed in a even manner (some are directed to the ground and that´s not always easy to notice) and that can give wrong idea of height. A slight slope can give a completely wrong height measurement. And even wiith a mirror placed correctly, there could be also a room for a error (your visual evaluation vs reality, etc, etc...) unless the surface measured is small or easy to measure. My most accurate measurements were done with a measuring tape and with a stadiometer. Measuring tape, was attached to the ground and lifted until I could feel the start of my hairline. Standing tall position achieved, I could even do this with the measuring tape placed just about 8-12 centimeters in front of my nose, so I could reach it easily with my hand and lift it until it reached the top section of my head. With my hand on a straight position, I could point how tall the start of my hairline was against the measuring tape. The rest of measurement (start of hairline until the top of the head) was easy to do, with ruler, very close to correctly positioned mirror. I repeated the operation sometimes, to draw a range. Be careful, to not lift your nose while being measured. Try to look directly forward, otherwise you may get a lower height measurement than you truly have. This measurement method(with a measuring tape)matched (with a decent level of accuracy) the stadiometer measurement that I got from the University hospital. A good stadiometer should have a large surface to touch the top of the head (like the Rob Paul´s one) and should be placed on even ground and wall, for example. So I wish you all good measurements and I hope that you all get nice positive surprises and be happy with what you have (and with some care, height increase is possible). Remember, when you get healthy diet, exercises and posture, maybe you´ll see positive differences. And more importantly, be happy! Some short people that I met in my life (and keep meeting), were strong, smiley and happy.

Does where you live affect your height and measurement? I am referring to the altitude in particular. Is someone living in a humid lclimate at Sea Level (Miami) going to measure differently than someone at 8,000 ' in a dry mountain climate (Aspen, CO)?

Interesting question since gravity is slightly different at higher altitudes than sea level, but I don’t think it’ll make that much of a difference in ur height.

Measuring accurate height is actually very difficult cause of various factors that is involved with. By the way, can you use a car as a measuring object, not accurate, but just to get a rough estimate. Like googling a car height and calculating the difference between the individual and the car.

When I used the gym’s electronic stadiometer I got 173cm but with the hospital’s stadiometer I got 172cm. Then using a tape measure in the afternoons I get between 172-173cm. Which would be the more accurate measurement given?

Hey Rob, I measured myself at 175,5 at night with a book on my head. I thought I am 177-178. So my girfriend measured another time at 177,5. A friend of mine measured me at work at 178. So I do not know what to believe. Some of my friends are claiming to be 175cm an I am clearly bigger. Others claiming to be between 180-182cm and I feel like I am nearly the same height. So is everybody lying? Or is 175 not that small or I am measuring myself wrong? I would love to have a stadiometer. I can not believe I am only 175.

I went to the hospital yesterday thanks to a fever, and got curious about my height if i got taller than 160. Then I was told I'm 155 cm! like wtf?!.. I was 155 when I was 13 years old, I'm 19 now, I remember how my height developed. I measured it now and it's 161cm. So, yeah even at a hospital it could be wrong sometimes, even though at ALL the other hospitals I went to before I always got 160 and it was right.. So don't trust hospitals all the time.. what's more funny is my mom doesn't believe me and says yeah 155 is a good height 😂 actually I'm 155 cm 😂 mom ur not u know ur 165 cm stop making fun of me, she says at hospitals they can't be wrong, but I'm telling you yes they can, I was having a hard time convincing her they were wrong. my brother said yeah, 155 that's got to be your height.. -_- u know what, I shouldn't have told anyone.. and just kept it to myself.. 3cm is a big variation. Say you had little interest in height, had an appointment for a physical at 11am...you likely would get between 177 and 178, so I'd claim either of those, about 5ft 10.
