Best I've heard him in twenty years. Think he literally has been to hell and back with medical issues and I never expected him to perform again so seeing this is very emotional. He sounds amazing! He's back!!!

Last time I saw him he collapsed on stage. The mic was 6-8' away and he was out, Yet his voice was still singing. Leave the poor guy alone. The JFK story wasn't for this show. It screams desperation and makes Mr rogers a million $$$ production. The chair they put Meat in was sucking him in like quicksand.

Wonderful to see Meat's voice was back after his surgeries. To have this be his last performance as opposed to his last couple years of shaky concerts put an appropriate cap on his well-deserved legacy. RIP Mr. Loaf.

True that, though Taupin only wrote the lyrics, while Elton John wrote the music. Jim Steinman was the complete package. And though Steinman always said Meat Loaf did his songs best (there's the "brothers" thing Mr. Loaf was talking about), he did have huge hits with others, such as "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" (Air Supply), "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" (Celine Dion), "Read'em And Weep" (Barry Manilow"), "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" and "Holding Out For A Hero" (both Bonnie Tyler).

I - a 22 year old male - was first introduced to Meatloaf in the back of my fathers car on the way to the local cricket matches. I immediately fell in love. All of my friends look at me these days and say why do you listen to this music - and I say - it’s music. RIP Meat - I play your songs every day and miss you so much. Meat Loaf died the day before my 22nd birthday, I never had the chance to see him perform live, but seeing this... I honestly teared up... he still wasn't up to his original pipes, as evident by letting his backup singers take over on some of the biggest parts of the song, but over the years, he's never lost his heart onstage or off, and it was still pounding all the way untill the end. For rocking the world one last time 5 years after your last show, just 3 months before your passing, God Speed into the here after Meat... GOD SPEED!!!

I hope you and Jim are rocking out with the angels. Meat Loaf has been my favorite artist since I was 9 years old, 26 years ago. That was when I first heard "I Would Do Anything For Love". Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇

Seeing this performance and I'm going to say it was probably one of his last ones is definitely a favorite of mine. Today he passed and another great one is gone. Big chunk of my childhood memories right there. Would have loved to have seen him live even if he couldn't put on a show like he used too. I can sit back and enjoy Meatloaf any day.

Not really. The brilliant band and backing vocalists are making him sound better than he is. He's still flat and out of sync on occasions. He's singing in a completely different key on the first verse.

So you believe that was him? I say that because the last time I saw him on stage he collapsed, mic went one way, he went the other, He was out. Yet his voice was still coming out of the speakers. I feel bad for him on this show. Let him live in our memory. This show and letting him tell the JFK story was too disjointed to share like this. The whole thing made Mr Rogers look like a million $$ operation.

Do you belive they made "him" sing worse for well over a decade, yet now "they" made him sound better? If he knew he wasn't able to sing at 100% i wouldn't be shocked if he had used a backing track to support him, many people have done that.

I've heard the studio recording and three live recordings of this song. I'm no forensic expert, but Meat's not lip synching as far as I can tell. He probably had more time to gather his strength on a TV show that wasn't live. Yes, he's frail here, but when the music rises he takes it in and gets off that chair and shows off what he always told audiences: "Don't - ever - stop - rocking!"

Some of my favourite moments of his career when he quote unquote Struggled. Every night wasnt perfect, but they tried. And i appreciate those nights than other band's best nights. You should check out the 3 bats live movie where they played blind as a bat live on DVD. Gonna go down in history as rock n roll's finest live moments. He had surgery on his vocal chords played live anyway, ghe best he could even though you could tell on camera he was in rough shape. He didn't just play a concert every night for 40 years. Every night was special with him, you can just tell. A really cool guy always with great players!

When I first heard he was working on a new album, my first thought was don't do it. After all he'd been through the last few years, the last thing I wanted was his legend to be tarnished. Now hearing how good he sounded on this, and knowing we'll likely not ever hear it completed as he would have liked, makes the news of his death today even more devastating. Rocking till the end. I had never heard of Meatloaf or the Album Bat out of hell but my wife at the time was a manager at a record store and she brought it home. It has remained my favourite album of all times. Not a bad song on the whole album.

The original song "Bat Out of Hell" was 45 minutes long. The legendary Todd Rundgren, the producer, said "I can't do this," and cut it to 11 minutes and Meat went crazy. "You've killed the song!" "I've killed the song?" "YES! You've killed the song!"

This rips me apart. He was a loud, rowdy, hellacious rock and roll GOD. Capital GOD god. At his height he was a filthy avenging angel. Him & Jim. The two of them were the soundtrack of my heart, and seeing him struggle to find it in him here just guts me. He still pulled it off, but man. God bless and keep him and his brother in arms. Meat & Jimmy will be missed sorely.

When he passed out on the tour his voice kept coming out of the speakers. I'm not buying that this was him live. Or it was heavily modified. Just calling it as I've seen it. He was great but this show just made me feel sorry for him. That JFK story was not the place to tell it. Huck looked like he was in a spot. He tried to keep him on track during the story. Just sad.

@@dellbeldon9339 it was a pre-recorded double tracking of his vocals. It's very common. It gives a fuller sound to the vocals as they are slightly differently sung. This is how vocals are recorded on albums and it's why live performances can manage to sound even close to the same level of quality

RIP meat hope your now back with your brother, i grew up from a child listening to meat loaf as my dad loved his music very much, he collected every album and we even went to see him live at the nec about 25 years ago, im so glad I went it was really good, but my dad sadly passed away last year a few months before jim and now meats gone seems an end of a era, sad times

I just found out that Meat passed in January, and I keep up with the news. :o/ As the video shows, he sounded awesome until the end! Hard to believe a 74 year old man can sing circles around someone a 1/3 is age! He and Jim's arrangement are so full, and progressive! Sadly, you WON"T hear this on the radio, it's just TOO damn good! (But on KZbin, you will! 👍) Thank you Meat for all the wonderful music You were one of my first rock inspirations when I was a kid. God bless your soul! May you rock on forever with all the greats up in Heaven.🙏✝️️

I find it amazing that, yes, he may have had those extra back up singers to hide any weakness in his singing, and yet his voice is still the one I hear over all of them, and I can still tell he hits those notes. I’m in tears, this is beautiful
