I spent my whole childhood growing up with the “bat out of hell 2” album on repeat, playing it to death in my Dads car on the old cassette player as I was only just discovering what real music even was, songs in which I grew to adore & still do 20+ years later, even spending hours & hours writing down the lyrics on a piece of paper as I didn’t have the internet back then - my first genuine hero… & someone i’ll love forever. RIP Meat - you made my whole upbringing undoubtedly a lot happier for me, & for that i’ll forever be eternally grateful.

I share this with complete modesty. I cannot explain how both a series of very good and very bad circumstances put me into a position of producing and promoting shows with Meat and some of the other greatest names in Rock...some where my idols as a kid growing-up in the early 70s. However Meat may stand-out as the most compassionate and caring through small gestures. While promoting the Bat II Tour I had to pass on a private dinner invitation by Meat for making the shows I was working the best selling on his tour. When he learned it was due to a neck injury almost identical to what he endured lifelong pain from a similar due to a fall off a stage in Australia, he reached-out, send me gifts and even had his own physician guide me through some homeopathic treatment for the pain (It bought me 10+ years before a second neck fusion surgery.) He had no need or incentive to do that, to follow-up and provide care to a guy who was "just doing his job". For all I know there were 1,000 like me that he did this for. Most of all the biggest names in Rock were genuinely humble and caring people... some putting "gift lists" together after tours or shows... when Meat sent me personalized autograph gold-plated CDs, photos and follow-ups on checking on my health, it showed the true man of compassion caring for someone else living in chronic pain. My attempt is to try to pay it forward.. if you are a chronic pain sufferer and need help... reach-out. If not me, you'll find others who genuinely care and that light at the end of the tunnel is NOT a train.

@@PHILDRU911 Thank you. I think the bottom line or moral to the story is that what comes around goes around. On another chat we shared a mutual belief in the sense of creating some of our own heaven or hell while living. Examples of people who had ripped us off (individually) and how bad karma came into their lives (not to our pleasure) but possibly of their own making. TY again for bringing this up... it just reminded me of something I've been intending to do to "pay it forward" for someone else. Again, seeking no accolades but hoping to inspire others. Rock on!

There will never be another person whose voice carries more power, nor emits such pure heart and soul behind every lyric as Meat Loaf. He sang as though every song was his last, giving it his all in the name of rock opera. God bless you, Meat Loaf, you will forevermore leave us all awe inspired by your immense energy which gave way to a wonderous exhibition of raw and beautiful emotion that richly flowed through your music.

Looks like a big budget video. Not all artists are given that much money to make videos...or the video producers don't have a clue how to make a good video. They should watch this to see how it's done properly.

Meat Loaf and Steinman. Like Lennon and McCartney before them, a paring of two absolute giants of music, together rising to the very best of pop music. Meat and Jim might have left this (miserable) world now, but we still have their catalogue of monumentally timeless classics. I won't ever stop listening to them (unless of course death is the end).

You made my rock and roll dreams come true since I was 9 years old. That was when I first heard "I Would Do Anything For Love". Everyone else was listening to BSB and I was blasting "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He had some hard times and so many health issues but despite it all he really left his mark. I'm so happy I saw him in concert in 2016. His voice wasn't as strong any more but he was still iconic and he put on one helluva show. Rest easy Meat. ❤🦇

You can't run away forever But there's nothing wrong with getting a good headstart You want to shut out the night, you want to shut down the sun You want to shut away the pieces of a broken heart Think of how we'd lay down together We'd be listening to the radio so loud and so strong Every golden nugget coming like a gift of the gods Someone must have blessed us when he gave us those songs I treasure your love I never want to lose it You've been through the fires of hell And I know you've got the ashes to prove it I treasure your love I want to show you how to use it You've been through a lot of pain in the dirt And I know you've got the scars to prove it Remember everything that I told you And I'm telling you again that it's true When you're alone and afraid, and you're completely amazed To find there's nothing anybody can do (Keep on believing, and you'll discover baby) There's always something magic (There's always something magic) There's always something new (new) And when you really-really need it the most That's when rock and roll dreams come through The beat is yours forever (The beat is yours forever) The beat is always true (true) And when you really-really need it the most That's when rock and roll dreams come through, for you Once upon a time was a backbeat Once upon a time all the chords came to life And the angels had guitars even before thay had wings If you hold on to a you can get through the night (Getting through the night) I treasure your love (treasure your love) I never want to lose it You've been through the fires of hell And I know you've got the ashes to prove it I treasure your love I want to show you how to use it You've been through a lot of pain in the dirt And I know you've got the scars to prove it Remember everything that I told you And I'm telling you again that it's true You're never alone 'cause you can put on the phones And let the drummer tell your heart what to do (Keep on believing, and you'll discover baby) There's always something magic (There's always something magic) There's always something new (new) And when you really-really need it the most That's when rock and roll dreams come through The beat is yours forever (The beat is yours forever) The beat is always true (true) And when you really-really need it the most That's when rock and roll dreams come through, for you, yeah

Alive, sane, functioning, and happy for 3-5 minutes at a time Once upon a time was a backbeat Once upon a time all the chords came to Life And the angels had guitars even before they had wings If you hold onto a chorus you can get through the night……..You're never alone cause you can put on the phones And let the drummer tell your heart what to do……..

RIP. A giant leave us. Jim Steinman, composer who gave great songs to vocals in and out of rock. From Air Suply (Making Love Out of Nothing at Nothing at All), Bonnie Tyler (Total Eclipse to the Heart) to Celine Dion(t's all Coming Back to me Now). His summit work he achieved in the voice of the great bread of meat with the tragedy and drama that imprints in his particular voice on those lyrics and music so theatrical.

I think it is more of a psychopomp/spirit-guide thing. He's this magical elf-thing living in a magical realm of rock and roll, stepping across time and space, sometimes by using a magical motorcycle, to find the lost and broken and desperate. He rips open holes between worlds by exploding the musical connections (the jukeboxes) between them, and he guides the people who need help with the power of music, saving them from their own despair and confusion.
