The glaring absence of alcohol made this nowhere close to your typical Midwest ice fishing experience.

I think i remember hearing Steve saying he was going to cut back on booze of one of his podcasts back in the spring
@Diabetic1124 жыл бұрын
You have to think of it from a business point of view, alcohol is okay for the average joe to post on youtube, but as a business you wouldn't want to show that and give the wrong impression, even if 99.9% of the viewers would be okay with it.
@rdo65664 жыл бұрын
Not everyone drinks on the ice. I am one of those people. I will gladly have a few off the ice back home or camp but honestly Alcohol slows your reaction, thins your blood making it more difficult to stay warm and promotes poor judgement. So if you do happen to go through being drunk will not aid you in saving your self or one of your buddies.

Steve's one of the best storytellers out there. Regardless whether you're into hunting/fishing or not he has great content and finds a way to pull you into his experiences
@melissaradik62184 жыл бұрын
I love it when Tracy Crane is featured on Meat Eater! She gives voice to my thoughts and feelings on hunting/fishing: I respect the sport and even want to try but I empathize a lot with the animal. If it weren't for my husband's "adult on-set hunting" obsession (where you get into hunting as an adult) I would never have any sort of desire to hunt. So, watching her gives me confidence to get out there and embrace the wild. Thanks Tracy!
@joshuavanderschaaf51454 жыл бұрын
Personally I feel better about hunting and fishing for the food I eat than buying it in a grocery store. Killing and catching your own food is better than it being raised in a pen or a building in my eyes. Go out and hunt a deer or a rabbit.... catch a fish and eat it and find out for yourself how it feels to harvest your own food.

Her whining commentary when steven was teaching her how to fish was kinda annoying other than that it's refreshing to hear a womens thoughts on the subjects at hand

@@edcko10 I didn't find it whiny at all. Steve was definitely not being patient lol which is fine but some people (my gf for instance) will not be able to learn like that. Something I like about Steve is that he doesn't pretend it's all cut and dried, perfect and there's no suffering, nor does he ignore the fact or even revel in that he's taking life. He's very matter of fact about killing and the different perspectives on that subject, as well as the reality that nature is far crueler than most people are comfortable with.
