Not true, and “heart beat” is very specific. There are quite a few sea animals who don’t have hearts or cardiovascular systems that are still very much alive and very much considered animals (take sea urchins for example). Meat is considered to be the of flesh of an animal and that is how it’s defined, trying to define it any other way leaves gaps in logic and unnecessary grey areas.

for everyone saying “but fish is meat!”, here’s your explanation-the bible was originally written in latin, and specifically said to abstain from eating “carne” on fridays during lent. “carne” in latin refers to the flesh of animals that walk on land and fly in the sky, but does NOT include water animals. english doesn’t really have a word that’s a 1:1 translation of carne, so we say “meat”, even though in english that DOES include fish. yes, it’s a slight mistranslation. no, it’s really not that serious.

Guys, it's a religious (Catholic) thing. In catholic beliefs, you don't eat meat (meaning pork, chicken, beef -> land animals) on Fridays, but you're allowed to eat fish and seafood, because they are not considered meat according to this rule. I grew up catholic, but I'm not religious, however people always cry for respect when it comes to other religions (like Hinduism, Islam, etc) and their (food) rules, but once catholic Christians have rules, people are losing their minds.

Ive read enough to realize this is about lent. But if lent doesnt consider seafood meat that just shows their level of understanding at the time. Meat is the flesh of any animal which includes seafood. Last i checked shellfish aint broccoli
@snaileriepimpson4 ай бұрын
Lenten abstinence from meat is about eating warm blooded meat, not cold blooded like fish. It’s not about abstaining from meat entirely as obviously fish isn’t broccoli. Even if it was about being meatless and people still ate fish, that would be fine. I know plenty of people of vegetarians who would occasionally eat seafood (myself included back in college).
@heresjohnny584 ай бұрын
@@snaileriepimpson fair enough but when you eat fish, even if a rare occurrence, in that moment you are a pescatarian (someone who eats fish but no land animals).

@@snaileriepimpson 1. What you’re describing is red meat. Catholics should just say “no red meat Fridays” or “Fish Fridays.” 2. She put sausage and chicken broth in, so she’s breaking Lenten rules. 3. Vegetarians don’t eat fish. That would be a pescatarian. Pescatarians are vegetarians+fish.

Sad part about this is that when he came back to the apartment and his girlfriend saw the little girl outside, he had already SA’ed her and was ultimately going to take her life. The girlfriend was delusional and negligent. You don’t suspect someone you care about to be a monster but at some point the lights should have came on after the girl went missing under those circumstances. I think about my kid that’s around that age and it breaks my heart. I couldn’t imagine what that baby went through and the fear she experienced knowing that someone you knew and cared about was hurting you. He’s a monster and doesn’t deserve to ever see the light of day let alone as a free man.

This debate in the comments could've all been avoided if it was stated her religion doesn't consider fish to be meat. Sometimes it's because it's cold-blooded sometimes because it's in a scripture. Fact is any animal you eat you eat the insides, the meat area. Both sides are right.
@Sophie-dd5xr4 ай бұрын
No. It’s factually incorrect to call it meatless regardless of religion. What she means is red meatless. So she should say red meatless.
