This model is an enhanced version of the Meccano set 10 model. It has the same dimensions but has had additional cross-bracing added along with a floor at the first level.

Just seen this on UKC. Never thought any fellow cavers might be into Meccano! I have my Grandfather's set stemming back to about 1922, and along with my set from many years ago, there is quite a lot! I just don't have the time to do anything with them sadly!

Hey do you have a Seuthe 0 and 1 gauge steam generator No.7 if you do can you do a tutorial of how you install it into your engine’s because I have one but I don’t know how to fix it

Hi Oscar. The smoke units I have used are Seuthe No. 6 which work off 10-14V. They are simple powered off a 12V battery pack and I've put a switch in series to turn them on or off. Have a look at wychboldandstokepriorrailway.blogspot.com/2015/01/ and you should get a good idea of how I went about fitting the units.

Cool Keith, im trying to make one myself, i wondered how you made the angles from the lower legs to the middle and upper tiers? Do u have any close up pics? And attached the balconies?

Hi. The legs are attached to the lower balcony by angle brackets slightly bent to give an acute angle. To get the correct angle I temporarily joined the legs at ground level with 37" strips made by joining 4 x 12.5" strips together. I removed these once the legs had sufficient strength to support the tower.I do have at least a couple of dozen pictures showing details of the construction. Why there is no video of mechanix Eiffel tower set

The Mechanic set seems to have limited availability in a number of countries. Hi Vod. I would guess the parts would cosy around £1500 in the UK. Don't tell my wife! I've been collecting Meccano for around 50 years so it wasn't all bought in one go.
