A stream would help (as would reading the manual). He lost this day one even not counting having any idea how the combat works due to not touching research, city repair, pilot training, or construction. It's the sort of game where making sure you do every single task every single day is an absolute requirement.

Back on my friend's Amiga in the 80s we used to play Mechforce (a ripoff of Battletech). I loved designing the mechs and wrote computer programs to optimize them. Playing the game was just a way to test the designs!

This is an excellent game, but very complicated. If you want a better view of it from someone experienced, I highly recommend watching Aavak's let's play that just concluded. He explains what's going on as he goes and cuts over the fiddly parts.

I'm going guess that Jon doesn't know that you can upgrade/fix the city and that you get one upgrade a day upto five, according to Aavak. The city moves at the end of turn. Also the numbers on the map are essentially minesweeper for enemy bases.

Its worth noting that this company has practically nothing to do with the old 80's games company. The brand name has been sold on like 4-5 times since the days Sid Mier and Co used it. These days it is now owned by an Australian developer who used to work at Bohemia interactive.

If you like the idea of the endless swarm gameplay, Infested Planet does basically the same thing without the mech design part, and with a better UI and clearer graphics. The Creeperworld series has a similar concept as well, although as more of an RTS base builder.

Day 152 of requesting Age of Mythology - a full playthrough if possible. This reminds me a lot of an anime called Bull Buster, where a company had to fight monsters with mechs on a small island, but the costs of operation meant they were on a nearly shoestring budget and in danger of being shut down. The scale was somewhat smaller, more cheerful (to an extent), and the theme song rocked, but the similarity was still there.

Some people care more about athletics, that's why you can buy chess sets that cost thousands of dollars. But as long as you can tell the pieces apart the gameplay is the same. I think there's a balance to these things, really. It's better if a game looks nice than not, and it will get more people to play, but once someone has hands on it's all down to gameplay.

​@@Jayfive276some told ol' Seth the Librarian to stop it, many said it was a waste of time, I shamefully count myself among them, but Seth just kept on asking, and you know what happened? There did finally come a day when Jon had finally fulfilled that request, after basically three years of requesting Zoo Tycoon was featured on the channel at last. Who knows if Jon is serious about fulfilling a request like that again but it's certainly not an impossibility as we've all witnessed. The funny thing is that maybe at a certain point it's not even about the request anymore, maybe it just becomes a nice little ritual someone does when settling in for an MATN video that supposedly helps the algorithm and really does no harm. Arguably you naysaying helps out too but you're just being negative for no real reason. I say we all take up the way of Seth and begin our own game request each upload eventually culminating in an organization of devout followers that spans the globe while also becoming unrealistic to be able to properly police leading to deep rooted corruption that will one day be our downfall, just don't worry about it and learn to love the request, or get over it idk. I just felt like being long winded and obnoxious honestly.
