I'm drn and this is our sixth game in this week's tournament, we're going up against Unrivalled Super Hottie! He's a good player off to a flying start, let's see if we can hang on in there or if we're crashing out of the tournament.
Anything you think I've done wrong or could do better please let me know, I'm always looking to improve both my gameplay and the video quality. Thanks again for watching!

I would've said seeing carry Arclight and thinking "I think what I need here is more mustangs" is madman behaviour if not for the fact that it worked. The multidimensional chess on display in this game is far too great for myself as a mere mortal to comprehend. Very well played!

Don't be that impressed! We were a bit lucky and anyone can play like this easily. It worked this game and we could've happily played with pretty much any giant as the carry here because our opponent has very little chaff. So long as you balance your force with chaff, chaff clearing front line units, anti-air and pick a carry unit you like you're solid. Bonus points if a unit can do two of those roles well!

for a second the lvl 9 fangs scared me, imagine 2 squads of doomguys, but alas chaff is chaff

Yeah, we needed the money to fuel our Fortress carry plan. Level 9 Fangs are fun but still die to a light breeze with only 1050 hp each. And then if we don't win that round we're facing enemies with infinite levels!

Haha, it could have gone very differently looking back suspect if he had taken Storm on Round 5 the game would've ended there and then! We got very lucky!

Ah, a clever strategy. If your early rounds march to their near-immediate deaths, then when you add a tank in front it's as if you added the whole board too ;D I jest (mostly), but health /is/ a resource, and it's not like Hottie was able to work on a counter for your board until after you had it well set up

Was a fun moment when we finally got Range on the Mustangs and could actually protect them but ouch was that start rough! Felt pretty hard countered as soon as we saw the first Arclights right in front of where out Mustangs were going to push towards. Health is definitely a resource, but I'd much rather have a slight cushion so losing one round isn't game ending :D

I'm so sorry! This might not exactly showcase them in the most positive light. If only our opponent had bought some Fangs or Wasps! So rude that he didn't.

Bad tempo wise, but something I've taken to doing is saving the 200 supplies to round 2 or 3, preferably for the turn with the drop for a large swing, sometimes just for two once I've seen the opponents board set up. While worse on tempo, i find 'throwing' round 1 doesn't particularly hurt.

Irbinstead of getting 2 200 units turn one, you can use mass recruitment for 3 level 1 units for more boars presence with 50 left over, making it much more likely you can deploy 2 200 units unless I desperately need a 100 cost option from the random options.

Yep - all perfectly reasonable ways to play Quick Supply! I was just feeling frisky and wanted to test a theory and then decided to try and win later down the road :D

This is why you putting the effort in makes a game good. You could have rolled over and played the hand you were dealt, but you buckled down and let those 23 kill mustangs carry! Mustangs have a single job and need a tech to excel at it as you said. Not sure how you could make them better, rate of fire doesn't help with the armor problem, damage at the cost if fire rate doesn't feel right for what they are. At the end of they day, I enjoy watching your games. Great content and thank you for taking the time to reply to as many comments as you do! I know between that and editing it can add hours of effort to these 15-20 minutes videos but is lovely to see. Wish you the best of luck and at least a starting Sledgehammer, if not all of them!

Thanks dude! Everyone's so supportive it's honestly my pleasure. I'd give Mustangs +5 Range by default so they don't yeet themselves into the middle of the tank line. Right now they're pretty dumb.

@@Drone_101i’d also give an upgrade for AP shots. Reduce damage output but ignore X% of armor

@@sensha5470 Think it's okay to have hard counter Techs in the game, though their existence can create balance issues. E.g. Overlords being hard countered by MM with Antiair, so they're allowed insane stats and techs. Often careful use of EMP is the correct solution to a counter Tech. Would much rather keep our units at just a single Tech so we're not paying the 200 gold premium for a second Tech unless it's our Carry unit for that game.

@@Drone_101 I was picturing the extra range becoming a default part of their kit, while it would be sorta like the marksman upgrade where it slightly changes the unit's role, decreasing raw dps in exchange for being better vs armored targets.

@@sensha5470 Oh for sure. Mustang base range should be 100 not 95. Them running into the Tank line without a Range Tech is very frustrating!

at 4:00 can you explain why your opponent should expect overlords from you? He doesn't have ANY chaff, so you don't need badgers... You yourself already have a lot of chaff (already countered), so you dont need fangs... He started with 4 snipers (one of which high level), so boats feel countered already... And the only choice remaining gives you both things you need - tanking and tank killing

@@alexckefob2117 Sure - you make great points! This was recorded before the last two balance patches so Overlord was still massively out of line in terms of damage output. Here it'd be reasonable to throw down some half tanky front line units like two sets of Sledgehammers and just drop the Overlord a little behind it and let it dps race everything on the board. It wouldn't win this turn but it would win the later turns, even if countered by the Snipers, given adequate protection. The Forts are a simpler one-unit solution which I'm glad we played but Overlord was still the standout strongest unit in the game at the time this was played so a lot of matches revolved around who could, and how they cpi;d, execute the Overlord pivot in mid to late game. Thankfully they're less overbearing now!

I will be very honest I have NO idea how you won. You've been constantly trash talking the mustangs but they somehow made you win I assume that the reason you won was because your chaff worked perfectly to distract your enemy for long enough to let your units kill him?

The Fort pressure pushing into the towers was the key here. We stabilised and got the Forts super tanky with both Barrier and Armour to buy time for our Mustangs to cower behind them an eke out their measly damage. Was a close run thing though, Super Hottie is a solid player!

Also the armor tech shuts them down pretty good too. I guess they have a utility for shooting down missiles, but thats a tech on them not given. You still seem to like to put damage buff items on them. That seems to help right?

@@AngryhammerGames Yeah damage items are pretty good on them because they wont waste any of it as overkill and they need all the help they can get. They used to be an excellent Charged Ammo carrying unit to spread EMP far and wide but that got removed. Damage items are a way to try and outscale Armor but it's not always viable and you often end up overcommitting to a relatively weak unit.

This armor fortress is wrong in so many levels...so sad and bad , 20k shield can easy win R4. Also carry Arclight + 35 range...well got 2 of them in many games - right and left side. Unstoppable. 20k AOE damage at 1.1 AS now. You just have to put them a bit UNDER towers not in front

There is no weak unit but each have it's time to shine. Though I'm not saying you can't play boat almost always and that is what makes it strong.

Think there are certainly weaker units than others relatively speaking. All units have roles to play but some can fill more roles than others, more easily and more safely.
