Just. Downright. Amazing. I actually wish i could seen that live, no little time bar telling that there was more to watch. It is one the reason i love your post match analyzing as it helps to not spoil just when the last round might be I really would have thought the 2 melting points were the pick, worrying about War Factory, and already having good targets for it, even into the absolute wall of chaff i still would have picked it. Your foresight is something behold, you are calling out your opponents moves likely before they started clicking. I was wondering the lack of early AA but didnt expect a whole Overlord to show up. In the end you won and like you say, the only fight that matters is the last one and you won! Edits on point, easy to follow, making sure i dont miss the little things your quick mind glance over. As always, wishing you the best of luck and all the Sledgehammers!
@Drone_1013 күн бұрын
You're far too kind as always! This was a one of a kind game for me. We could see our opponent's plan and, as a fisherman would say, played the line out for him to nibble on without scaring him off. Knowing we could beat it if he did commit by being prepared. Playing against a Giant Specialist we should've expected the Round 3 Overlord when we wasn't showing any Anti-Air, that was definitely a misplay that I'm glad we survived! Think we both made a few mistakes here though, and if either of us had played better this game could've and perhaps should've been over sooner and more decisively. Replicate Crawlers was a bad call on my part, and Anti-Air Marksmen was a poor choice for our opponent. It happens though, and it's rare for a game to go truly perfectly - the skill sometimes is in accepting mistakes and correcting for them or incorporating them into other parts of the grand plan! Really enjoyed this game and I'm glad I got to share it, thanks for watching as always.

What an amazing game ! I recently faced 4 war factories with repositioning of one of them but he had tech them to produce phoenix, sledges and balls + mobile beacon and despite scorpions with acid (no siege though) I got literally overwhelmed by his mass production and he wiped me off in 2 rounds whereas I was leading since the beginning and was about to crush him. Intense too but I didn’t find the right answer to his factories (and didn’t see them coming actually) whereas you perfectly anticipated and adjusted your play. Big lesson learnt and your game compliments it very well :) thanks !
@Drone_1013 күн бұрын
No worries! We got a bit lucky here that he felt confident enough to play the Factories on a none-free unit turn and then Scorpions landed in our laps immediately after. Think there were lots of small points that could've cost us this game; Range on the Marksmen instead of Anti-air, slightly better missile positioning on round 3, a faster sell off of the level 6 Rhino. At the end of the day I think it was the Top Supply Specialist, paired with our Elite starting specialist scaling into the late game that gave us just enough of an edge to hold out. What would you have done differently if you knew you'd be facing 4x War Factories again yourself?
@Jeeboo0073 күн бұрын
@@Drone_101 mmm.. actually I now do the "what was good what was bad" end session thanks to your videos and it helps. Often I don't narrow down my problem as good as you do but in this case I had storms and his factories being aggressively positioned I should have gone EMP to disable production I suppose, which would have allowed my scorpions and phoenix (levelled) to take them out. Instead, I unlocked melters and they were totally useless, burried under a mass of freshly produced units... Actually, how do you see your opponent is going for war factory just with chaff positioning? I don't get the pattern.
@Drone_1013 күн бұрын
All good! Reviewing and reflecting on games is defo a skill that takes practise, the more you do it the better the results will be. Yeah, try and always think "one problem, one answer". It can be difficult but this game is centred around hard counters, so picking the best counter for a given situation is often better than having two softer counters to the same problem.
@Jeeboo0073 күн бұрын
@@Drone_101 good input "one problem one answer" but sometimes i fail identifying the problem in-game. But more and more I can identify it during the end game session with myself or watching the replay to analyse the game more in-depth. Lot of knowledge learned from your videos but I guess practice is the best way. BTW, if you still struggle with your audio editing, I'm still open to give you a hand and see if I can help you streamline the process. You could send me a raw un-edited audio file from one of your past video and I can see if I find some improvement, eventually (not granted but perhaps worth a try) ;) If that's tempting, considering there is no more PM in YT I could leave my email here in a "detached" format to prevent bots spamming my box, you pick it up and I'll delete the message right after (just trying to find a way to get in touch with you outside of YT). @@Jeeboo007 Thanks! Really appreciate the offer dude but in truth there's more going on than just audio clean up. I move things around to make space for the music segments and to give Editor DRN a spot here and there. The post match review is pretty much "raw" with zero edits now. Most people don't watch them according to KZbin's analytics and doing audio clean up for those 3 to 4 minutes of me just straight talking isn't worth it so I've been leaving the keyboard clicks and breathing sounds alone there and just masking them a little with the music. Apologies if the poor audio in places bothers you, I'm trying to find the happy medium, if I'm not careful I could spend forever on a single video! :D

I noticed in the last couple of your videos you invest in storm level ups. Ever get concerned that late game your investment(s) will be nullified by some AM devices?
@Drone_1018 күн бұрын
Yep, the fear of them being hard countered by Anti-Missile tech or devices is why I tend not to buy four sets of Stormcallers and instead use a few higher level ones that can threaten to knock over Giants. I see Storms as a "nice to have" unit but never a back-bone of a force, I'll always try to have other sources of Chaff clear and Anti-Giant so if they get countered I'm not completely scuppered. Does mean I sometimes don't buy Stormcallers when I should though!
@danenobile46868 күн бұрын
Beautiful game. Clash of the giants, steel shattering firepower. No advice on your play other than that right flank missing it's crawler for far too long, but luckily never punished. The missed uses of the drop Rhino and item are obvious miss plays but they panicked which how much stacking pressure you were building. I am wondering about your unit choices, I would have through the fire bagers better, but I'm still not familiar with the unit card only units to know whats best Edits on point, replays are really growing on me, liking them more and more. Wishing you the best of luck and all the sledgehammers!! At least hold out hope for a buff! They honestly do seem to lack the late game effectiveness of other chaff and don't have thr fire power to stand toe to toe.
@Drone_1018 күн бұрын
Thanks dude, was a fun game for sure getting so many Giants on the board! Fire Badgers are great in very specific circumstances - sadly this wasn't one of them I'm afraid. You have to consider how they match up not just against what your opponent has on the board but also against what they're likely to pick from the cards. Never use Fire Badgers against Fortresses, it's painful!

I thought this was a great video. I like the poetry read, was solid! Tons of great advice. The flank crawler is a good topic; if you can ever get opponent to light himself on fire, it's a win. Having said that, your opponent must have a level of esp for that initial crawler placement. Luckily, I've never ever pressed that +200 button early. Except maybe earlier today. Lol! Nice video! Fun game!
@Drone_1019 күн бұрын
Thanks Jesse, glad you enjoyed it! The poetry was something a bit different for me but I've used the phrase "of Mice and Men" a lot and figured it was worth giving some context beyond the Steinbeck classic. Robert Burns has some fantastic work, always sounds amazing when spoken with an authentic Scottish lilt. I've fallen into the trap of pushing that +200 loan too early a few times, think I had a fortnight where I played four tournies and used it almost every game, defo an easy mistake to make! The risk is turning a tempo advantage into a longer term loss and suddenly not being able to close the game out like you expected and then getting out scaled by a late game composition.

To be clear, you mean value(relative importance) rather than value(actual number) when you say you get less value for stacking buffs, right? Also, why not drop the rhino directly on the crawlers in that corner. Or will the damage it takes from landing on them be greater than fighting them?
@Drone_1019 күн бұрын
Yeah, relative to what it 'could' be it's lesser once you already have a buff. From an absolute stand point, +10% is +10% but when you've already gotten +30% from elsewhere then it feels like a smaller gain comparatively, if my thinking makes sense? Particularly when facing damage ramp beam weapons like Melting Points and Steel Balls. Edit - sorry missed answering the follow up question! Dropping the Rhino directly on the Crawlers would kill them but would cost more HP than the Rhino would lose just punching his way through - unless they've got Impact Drill or Mech Rage. Depends if you value speed over surviving HP after the encounter. Haven't done in depth testing on the practise map though so could be wrong!
@WerdnaTheRed9 күн бұрын
@@Drone_101 Makes sense, yeah, and it's how you treated it in the video. But like when I check my oven in the middle of the night, despite distinctly remembering turning it off three days ago when last I used it, I was compelled to confirm this was the case. And no worries, communicating an unrelated series of questions in a comment/reply system is weird. Is the drop-in damage just hp cancellation, or is there a multiplier to it? Looking at the wiki, it's five attacks (from level one crawlers) to surpass the hp trade, assuming a 1 to 1 hp trade for landing on them
@Drone_1018 күн бұрын
@@WerdnaTheRed Arrival impact damage is a straight -HP of what is landed on to the arriving unit. Which ever has more HP will survive. The classic is using Heavy Armor Specialist to drop a Vulcan on another Vulcan that's covering a flank for a massive turn over turn.

Round 3 had two powerful air units in the drop but also offered level 2 Typhoons. Sure the wasps can punish lack of AA tech on arclights but wouldn't typhoon have been a better pick for countering both the wasp and overlord options? Maybe I'm just missing something because I think typhoons are cool as hell haha. Also glad you're back, we were getting worried editor DRN might have knocked you senseless. EDIT: just saw it offered the level 3 typhoon at round 5. It REALLY wanted you to take them. :P
@Drone_10110 күн бұрын
Believe me I felt the lure of the Typhoons too! I don't think they counter Overlords really unless you're confident your opponent isn't running Armor on them or their Wraiths otherwise it's too easy to get them stuck on the beefy targets and the Overlord easily out DPSes them. Could've been a good choice as extra chaff clear but I was worried about getting caught flat footed and out ranged by big scary Arclights that hit a bit too hard for the Typhoons to tank. Think Wasps were the correct choice Round 3 in hind sight, forced our Elite Spec opponent to respond to us and not get to progress their Arclight game plan for a few turns. Round 5 I'm not really sure, we were offered 4xLvl2 MM, 2xLvl2 Rhino, 1xLvl3 Typhoon and 1xLvl3 Scorpion(*edit). Our opponent is already showing Mustangs with Range, Arclights with Range, Stormcallers, an Overlord and a lot of Chaff. The Overlord and Stormcallers counter Scorpions pretty hard but are only level 1 so their DPS isn't spectacular, while the Scorpion annhilated Arclights - particularly once it gets range under it's belt. Think you could make an argument for choosing the Snipers but then we'd need more chaff clear to get them on priority targets. Think we always lose the chaff war vs massed Arclights unless we go mass Wasp but that's rough into 3x Mustangs already on the board. Always hesitant to pick anything ground based that's shorter ranged than Arclights into a threatened Arclight Carry game. Still have PTSD from the Demon Unkillable Arclights game so I probably over index on them though! :D
