how did you determine that the angle was 110 degrees ( occurs at 2:40 of the video)

First we used the geometric rule: alternate interior angles are equal (congruent). That is where the 20 degrees came from. Then a right angle (vertical to horizontal) must be 90 degrees. 90 + 20 = 110 degrees.
