Hola te hago una pregunta yo no sé del tema pero analizando el mecanismo lo que veo es que ayuda a que si el sistema se queda sin giro tendría como un mecanismo de seguridad que acuñaria el engranaje además de esto que otra ventaja tiene este mecanismo y porque no se pone directamente la energía de giro del motor.

I had to assume that there are axles at the center of the gears and that the top coupling was off center for this to make sense. These details matter when you're doing an animation.

This is nice to look at but would be way better if it showed off the special thing about this - how if the little excentric part, if it rotated the other way, the same thing would happen, the ratchet would still go the same direction. My gf is adhd and cant imagine it, coz cant juggle so many parts in her brain, she needs it visualised.
