If I cast the "Swift End" and it's in the "Adventure/Exile" zone... and then I cast a Gray Merchant, will the "Swift End" count towards Gray Merchant's devotion to black, even though "Swift End" is in the exile zone?
@LibertyMTG4 жыл бұрын
Nope. The "Adventure" zone is part of the exile zone, which is not considered the battlefield. Devotion will only count the mana symbols on permanents you control on the battlefield.

Apologies: But, question of curiosity about Open House. Are most peoples LGSs having an Open House? My LGS always has one, then all of a sudden they said they are not a "premium" store to qualify for Welcome Decks & Open House Promos. Is this happening to any1 else? Or is WOTC even doing an Open House / Welcome Deck Promo? BTW Enjoy ALL of y'alls content. Very informative & Clarity.
@LibertyMTG5 жыл бұрын
They stopped making promos for specific events and replaced all of them with the promo packs. Stores get a number of promo packs based on the number of engaged/activated players they have. For some stores that means getting less promos than they used to get, and for others it can be more. We don't run Open House or Standard Showdown events (it would be working too many hours for me) so we actually receive a good number of promos we get to use exclusively for FNM. It sounds like your store decided to not give promo packs away at Open House. The Welcome Decks still exist, but we have to call WotC and request them now.

@@LibertyMTG Thanks for the info. I knew y'all could iron out some questions I'd have & I could understand why, perhaps I'll call to see if they did get any Welcome decks, cause I always find / bribe a friend or Co-worker to go.

Suppose I exile a creature like Curious Pair from my battlefield using Incubation // Incongruity. Would that creature not be "On An Adventure" to play back out later, since I didn't use the Adventure to place it in exile? Or can these creatures be played from exile anytime they end up there? Oko needs to know!
@LibertyMTG5 жыл бұрын
No. They can only be cast from exile if they are on an adventure. Exiling a creature in play will not put the creature on an adventure.

I'm just starting with MTG and was wondering, if I can cast an adventure multiple times. Or is an adventure like a normal sorcery/instant and is exiled after using it? Imagine casting Murderous Rider and send him to adventure mode. After that, Murderous Rider still is on the battlefield as a permanent, as I have casted it as a creature spell but as I understand this, I cannot reuse the adventure. Am I getting this right?
@LibertyMTG4 жыл бұрын
You cast the adventure from your hand and the card is put into the exile zone "on an adventure." You may cast the creature either from your hand, or from the exile zone if it's "on an adventure." Once the creature is on the battlefield you can't cast the adventure.

Can you cast these cards with Kess as instants and sorceries from the graveyard ?
@LibertyMTG4 жыл бұрын
715.4. In every zone except the stack, and while on the stack not as an Adventure, an adventurer card has only its normal characteristics. Here's a ruling: "An adventurer card is a creature card in every zone except the stack, as well as while on the stack if not cast as an Adventure. Ignore its alternative characteristics in those cases. For example, while it's in your graveyard, Giant Killer is a white creature card whose converted mana cost is 1. It can't be the target of the triggered ability of Mystic Sanctuary." To answer your question, because it's in the graveyard it is treated as though the adventure part doesn't exist. Something like Snapcaster Mage wouldn't be able to target it for Flashback because it's a creature card, not an instant or sorcery.

Hey guys, do you actually think that knights tribak is going to be, somewhat competitive?
@LibertyMTG5 жыл бұрын
Yes. It's very like to be a tier 1 deck. It had good aggressive creatures, and the knight land coming into play is a huge benefit for mana fixing.

What if you play the Adventure part with feather out does it go to your hand or the Adventure Zone
@LibertyMTG5 жыл бұрын
Very good question! I will answer this to the best of my ability, but emphasize waiting for release notes for the final answer. The Adventure has a replacement effect to exile the card upon resolution. The card will remain in the exile zone "on an adventure". Feather, the Redeemed also has a replacement effect to exile the card upon resolution, and if you do, it creates a delayed trigger to return that card to your hand at the beginning of the next end step. You must choose which replacement effect you are using when the spell resolves. (Emphasis on when the spell resolves, NOT at the beginning of the next end step!) If you use Feather's replacement effect, the card will return to your hand. If you choose the Adventure's replacement effect it will stay in the exile zone on an adventure (What I am calling the "adventure zone", but that is not a real thing.)

@@LibertyMTG I think you can't chose if Feather is in play. "Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell that targets a creature you control, exile that card instead of putting it into your graveyard as it resolves". You have to exile it with Feather. (My opinion) Obviusly in the case is targeting a creature you control.
@LibertyMTG5 жыл бұрын
@@tolocastaner6763 It depends on the official wording for Adventure. If adventure functions as a replacement effect, it will be like any other situation where you have multiple replacement effects happening. In those instances the controller gets to choose which replacement effect gets used.

I don't think esper hero will be relevant after rotation. Loses 12 check lands and oh yeah big daddy tef
@LibertyMTG5 жыл бұрын
Losing big Teferi will definitely hurt the deck. As for lands, everything is losing the check lands. The KTK wedges have slightly better mana bases because they get 2 Temples already. Esper mana base could look like: 12 shock lands, 4 temples, 2 evolving wilds, 2 gain lands, 5 basics. I don't think that's too rough on the mana base.
@justinnave48535 жыл бұрын
@@LibertyMTG in an esper deck that already wants to get the tempo, taking a chance on not getting that turn 2 thought erasure or turn 3 teferi will severely struggle especially on the draw. In an upcoming format that looks to be more slow I can see it possibly working out but I just don't think its viable, coming from an esper hero player I know that having a 3 check land hand is a mulligan unless it's a super slow matchup
