you cannot call 40% oxygen concentration PURE nor Highly Concentrated , but you can call it NITROX 3 though, which name we were responsible for at Nitrox Technologies Inc. in 1996 Nitrox 1 = 32% Nitox 2 = 36% Nitrox 3 = 40% , these 3 Nitrox levels are used by Scuba Divers World wide.

What is the freaking point if it's discharging the N2 enriched waste product right next to you? It's like separating the suite of hearts from a deck of cards, then shuffling them all right back together and dealing them out claiming you've now got more hearts. If you're going to use a oxygen generator, you want to discharge the waste nitrogen somewhere else, and use a mask so you benefit from the flow of enriched-oxygen. This gadget just concentrates oxygen already in the room air. It doesn't MAKE oxygen at all. If you allow both discharge streams to mix, you're just making noise (30 decibels isn't QUIET!) and wasting electricity. A lot of electricity. These things are energy hogs. If you don't need enriched oxygen for some medical purpose, you won't benefit from using one of these. Healthy people grow RBCs enough to carry oxygen to their body's cells and carbon dioxide away. Your body adjusts so you have the right amount to sustain whatever your metabolism needs, at whatever altitude you live. You'll just exhale any surplus O2. Thank your lucky stars if you don't have asthma, COPD, or other cause of low O2 saturation in your blood, and don't waste your money on medical devices you don't need. This is being used to sell hotel rooms? haha. Geez, this is so stupid.

Why not have a couple of hoses. The N2 rich air can be lead outside your room and the O2 reach air can be attached to a mask or another device.

Depends. Zeolites have a variety of microporous forms depending on the ratio of Silica and alumina contents. I believe cat sand is only for moisture absorption property.

Oxygen concentrator should give Oxygen of at least 85% purity if not 90-95%, 45% is too low.

+Stanley Yancey If you want to generate hydrogen, that's really very easy. A source of electricity will separate water for you at two electrodes, in a salt solution (you need the salt because distilled water is a very poor conductor of electricity.) At your electrodes you'll see bubbles forming. At one you're getting hydrogen, and at the other, oxygen. Look up the safe set-up so you don't electrocute yourself or cause an explosion/fire. I was once careless in the lab and blew up some glassware when I accidentally ignited my hydrogen, doing this. Fun times, thank goodness for safety goggles. Now you see the difficulty behind hydrogen-fueled cars. It's not the safest fuel to handle and you'll spend more energy splitting your water than you get back out burning it back together. I hope this is helpful.

+Stanley Yancey I would use a membrane that allows conductivity without allowing the 2 gases to re mix. then capture each separately for taking advantage of their specific characteristics.

+Stanley Yancey: You are using electrolysis to make coloidal silver? What I use to do was using lead electrodes (since they last a long time) and sulfuric acid was my electrolyte. I made lots of hydrogen and oxygen this way.

These Chinese devices are rather odd. medical grade oxygen concentrators are set to given oxygen concentration of over 90% at different flow rates , they give serious warning if the oxygen concentrated goes below 70 percent , this device gives a maximum of 40 percent so it is a low-level product , just be aware of this.
