So glad your home and well. You reminded me of my son John, he was 4 when he spent a week in late April in the Cleveland clinic. When he came home he refused to go inside until he had toured the yard and garden. Blessings to you!.

Glad you are well now. I have not heard of anybody having a gallstone post cholecystectomy before. I have known many people who say cholecystitis is one of the worst pains around. Lucky you! Those beautiful blue poppies should make you feel better. I notice you have a Protea growing & about to bloom... in Ireland to boot.

Sorry about your hospital stay but the main thing is they found out what it was and they could help you. I had a similar problem in April last year. I had an aneuryism in my aorta. They had to repair it in two surgeries that took up most of April. A busy garden time for me. Take care Rachel. Bonny zone 5b Canada

You are of course right, Bonnie. The main thing was that they got to the bottom of the problem and fixed it. I'm glad you had a proper resolution too and now we're both back at the garden! Thanks for taking the time to share and have a great day.

Rachel, so glad your back and well again, you were missed. I have liver problems so I can relate to what you must have went through. Also I would have been the same way on the ride home from hospital admireming the new things that have happened outdoors since your unfortunate situation. I consider myself an experienced gardener , but I'm afraid of blue Himalayan poppies. I'm not at that level yet so kudos to you! Take care.

I'm very glad to hear you're feeling better! Funny, I started watching your videos to learn about meconopsis but I stayed to listen about your liver problem. I am a few months into some pretty serious intestinal issues and I've had an MRI with contrast showing, possibly, something on my liver. I have to go in for a liver ultrasound later this month. Anyway, thank you for all the information!

Glad you are feeling better. I also fell ill some yrs ago, and couldn't eat for months. I had Giardiasis, a bug that lives in contaminated water. I don't know how this happened. My doctor was usless. No tests at all. 4mths later, I finally ended up in hospital 4st lighter. Every cloud has a silver lining hey. I was given antibiotics and was soon on the mend and putting on weight again. However, it took some time to feel fit enough to work. So please take it slowly and except any help. X

Hi Marcus. Magnolia stellata is a good tree to try as it doesn't take the ages (7 years, is it!) that regular magnolia trees take to flower. It is supposedly more tolerant of non-acidic soil too. I'll keep an eye out for weed seeds, thanks.
