Somewhere in the Dutch Countryside, we parachute in to meet a man named Barnes. Our goal, destroy tanks pretty awesome.

Used to piss me off a little when Barnes would yell "We gotta move, Jimmy!", I was always like "look, mister AI who already has all his needs programmed into him, some of us need to look around for more ammo and healing canteens , so get off my ass man lol."

I know sometimes I like to take in the scenery or look hard for ammo.

I grew up with this game and this level always used to make me really sad. The amazing music captures the atmosphere of this level greatly and when you find the old lady shaking with the broom it always made me cry as a kid. Also at the beginning of the level where the guy gets caught in the windmill than gets shot made me cry as well. It still makes me a bit sad whenever i go and play this level again.

It's easy to forget while you're playing that this game is based on WWII, people like that old woman existed, the oppression from the Nazis over the Jewish people is reflected in her. That's why this game is so special, it's not some bloodthirsty waste of time like the GTA games, you feel like you're actually accomplishing something when you finish each level.

@@johnwilliamson2207 sparked a keen interest in history for me as well. I remember helping my sister with her high school WW2 class homework when I was still in elementary school, all thanks to these games.

I still have never heard that beautifully sounding of a rifle in any other game. The echo rolling across the horizon is breathtaking.
@travismeta37276 жыл бұрын
Kameron Willison You could even hear the power in it. Almost like a real rifle, you can hear it from a distance. Now that is how a real sniper rifle is supposed to sound.
@eddielombera58625 жыл бұрын
Kameron Willison it’s a shame games now a days lack that sound design that MOH Frontline was able to do 17 years ago. This and the M1 Garand are the most memorable

I just had the chance to see the netherlands’ windmills in real life. It all brought this game, espacially this mission back to my mind. One of the deepest video game experiences i ever had. Music and sound effects of the game still bring back memories to this day. I Will always remember this game along with rising sun.

Creating a distraction with burning the windmill haunted me as a child (age 8). It was the first time I understood what war meant. The first time I started to grasp the implications of it. I watched that poor old woman shiver in fear and sadness as she watched her livelihood burn, just so a soldier could get into the city. And I look around. She didn't have any other family living nearby. She probably was all on her own. Maybe she had lost her husband. Maybe the only man she had around the farm was a son-in-law... and he wasn't around because he joined in the war effort too. Still this scene shakes me and brings a chill over my bones.

I loved Medal of Honor Frontline! it was like watching a movie while playing along, really emotional game, and the music soundtrack is fantastic, I was a big fan of Saving Private Ryan so I was so excited to play this game, brings back great memories 3/8/23

Great video game. I miss the Medal of Honor franchise, mostly the World War II theatre. This game's my favorite out of the entire franchise. The video game soundtrack is wonderful as well.
@travismeta37276 жыл бұрын
RetroTube1978 They shouldn’t have made a Modern War shooter before they quit making the franchise, I think it would’ve been okay if they have kept it classic. However, if they made a return with Medal of Honor rising sun remastered or something like that. I’m sure you’d see a bunch of people who played Medal of Honor frontline a while back. I’m sure there are many people out there, somewhere. Who has played this beautiful game. It may not look good in graphics, but it sure did have a good damn soundtrack. Out of all the World War 2 shooters like Call Of Duty, this one takes a very good depiction of World War 2.

This game is great. I loved this mission in particular because it captured the atmosphere of the countryside so perfectly, in the midst of a brutal war...so quiet and the solitude and sadness you feel when playing this mission could only be achieved with this amazing soundtrack. This really says a lot about what the game industry has turned into over the years...it's not about making art anymore, the big corporations only care about the sales. That's why MOH died. EA suffocated it.

I remember playing this as a kid during my summer vacations, the entire day I would devote my time to this game. It's sad how this game's glory has been buried underground but this game will forever have a special place in my heart. The graphics, the missions the gameplay the soundtrack everything is engraved in my heart as a beautiful memory, This game will forever be missed by the 2000's generation

This mission seems a lot better on PS2. The PS3 version is too sunny/ bright looking. The overcast weather of the PS2 version added a lot to the atmosphere and melancholy tone of that mission (the soundtrack fits it so damn well too).

This game was made in 2002, the engine (and most gaming systems) couldn't handle the enormous graphical requirements such a scene would require.
@igorpolyakov41136 жыл бұрын
That's silly, because Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead had an airdrop segment in the beginning, and they were made the same year. It's because this game was only made on consoles and not PC, unlike Allied Assault and its expansions which were.
