FORGOTTEN HISTORY

FORGOTTEN HISTORY

Күн бұрын

During the Vietnam War, helicopter crews had high casualties both killed and wounded, and the men who flew these missions were made of steel. They had to be, and as a result a few became some of the most highly decorated airmen in our nation’s history, such as Bruce P. Crandall. Hosted by Colin D. Heaton. The Forgotten History Channel is a 10th Legion Pictures Production.

I've always held these men in the highest of regard. But now that I'm a combat vet myself I admire them even more. 2 brave men in the air and several on the ground completely changed the outcome of that battle.. but if it weren't for the two MOH recipients in the air it wouldn't have been that way at all.

Bruce Crandall, one hell of a helicopter pilot who risked everything to rescue wounded soldiers and fly where no sane person would ever want to go. I have nothing but respect and admiration for him.❤

I love your work, and you can’t beat a veteran who knows what he’s talking about!! I had a relative who actually served as a Huey door gunner in the Australian army during Vietnam. He was decorated for bravery. I’m sort of glad I joined a peace time army a decade after Vietnam!

As a military historian I am fascinated by and drawn to stories like this , not for the unfortunate " blood and guts " , death and wounding aspect of warfare , but rather the inspirational stories of the men and women who inspite of the personal danger and risk did what most people wouldn't do , when they were told it couldn't be done . Who turned down calls to leave the battlefield to come to conferences and cocktail parties because they saw the need to be with thier men to finish the more important job they were committed to and engaged in . Thanks for sharing these great stories of those who were soldiers once ....and young. 😎👍

This reminds me of Hugh Thompson and his crew at the My Lai Massacre. He placed his helicopter between advancing US troops and civilians and is credited with ending the slaughter. He and two crewmen were finally acknowledged 30 years later with the Soldiers Medal (1998). Thompson and his door gunners had big brass ones like Bruce Crandall. This is another episode of history the government wishes it could forget.

I have been a HUGE FAN of LT Colonel Hal Moore and Bruce Crandall!!! Since watching "We were soldiers" I can't get enough of all these wonderful HEROES. I am learning more about the wonderful heroism of this one in a million Vietnam Veteran HERO!!! He risked his life to protect and rescue his brothers in arms. I served during the Vietnam era, but was never in country. I have the utmost respect and honor for all my brothers and sisters in uniform to protect this country!!! Praise be to our LORD GOD!!!!

I will never let America forget the scarifies of our Vietnam Vets.🇺🇸Moore and Crandall were heroes but there are many others that served with honor as well. I salute them all. It was a vicious political war and our troops were just a commodity of a corrupt political machine. Shame on American for treating our vets with such disregard when their leaders and the politicians lost the war.

You could shorten it to "...We'll be answering these questions and others, in today's episode of....." and then insert your best catchphrase, followed by a brief darkened screen and a pause in the audio (or your channel's trademark sound... think "Law & Order" 'dun-dun' sound or the special "Ancient Aliens" scene-change weird sound)...

I like your stories and appreciate you bringing them out but of you're going to do military videos you really need to learn the difference between Calvary and Cavalry. In your video about Bruce Crandall you consistently said 7th Calvary. Calvary is where Christ was crucified. Right is right, wrong is wrong.
