In my opinion An Extremely Goofy Movie is actually quite good once ya get to know it, and I actually liked it. However the only disappointing thing about it is the fact that the dynamic between Goofy and his son Max restarts.

And that Roxanne isn't here, and that Max gives NO REASONS why he left her or why they broke up. Thoses two things are super dissapointing too ;( Also, the bullies are not great villains. They are not intimidating, funny or well developped. Why would i care about thoses guys?

I don’t think so, Max is actively trying to be nicer to his dad throughout this film and doesn’t antagonize him nearly as much as he did in the original film. It’s only when Goofy kept smothering him and clinging to him that Max had to hammer it in that he’s not a little kid that needs extra attention anymore.

It's been speculated that it's Goofy who forgot the lesson from last time instead of Max, while he's upset that his dad's here at college with him, Max is understanding when he learns Goofy's been fired and needs a college degree. So Max lays down some ground rules and boundaries but Goofy forgets the conversation then does his clingy dad thing when he's supposed to working on school stuff, while Max could've been more attentive to Goofy being sad he was leaving, Goofy shouldn't have tried to drag Max into his empty nest syndrome.

Funny thing is that Frank Angones, the guy who's doing Ducktales 2017 pitched the idea of Mickey being a Hollywood star in the show's universe but Disney shot it down. Seriously, Mickey appears in those shorts and a preschoolers show why not give him more attention since everyone is seeing him as a corporate stooge/symbol nowadays. Hell, he's a badass in Kingdom Hearts for god's sake!

@@magnetoonproductions9541 yeah, other than those old comics (which I barely read), the only thing we know about him in his outside life is that he has twin nephews, an older sister, he is a big doormat (he should learn the words 'no' istg), and gets kidnapped a lot, but even in those he is around his friends 24/7 (might be saying that Mickey doesn't have a life or something lol) the problem is that they barely give anyone a chance to portray mickey in series of his daily lives without all of his friends being there all the time

My favorite part is when Bradley and the Gammas are giving Goofy trouble for wanting to quit, Goofy fights back and holds his own against Bradley. (Remember the first movie where we see Goofy be straight up angry at Max for changing the map? He's an easygoing guy but is capable of throwing down when pushed)

I actually saw a tv broadcast of the film that cut the burning logo scene. I was actually confused about it. Thank you for explaining why the scene was cut in some versions of the film. I feel it is needed for Max and Goofy's development. Max's main problem is that he was selfish and putting someone above himself for once shows that he as grown up.

I love the movie, but there's a few problems with it (some of them you have mentioned). Like Pete's wife and daughter were never brought up in both films, Roxanne not appearing, the lesson from the previous film was forgotten and was recycled, Max being an asshole, Goofy for some reason switched jobs and Beret Girl never got a proper name.

I would like to think that while the lesson from the first film should’ve stuck with Max, since he’s an adult now he’s basically pressured by all his responsibilities, thinking that even if his dad would always be there he himself probably wouldn’t proceed in life as he wants to.

I think the ESPN adverting is what hurt the movie the entire plot is about the x games I know everything in the late 90’s and the early 2000’s was all about being EXTREME but come on this movie couldn’t go 5 minutes without reminding me that the x games are a thing we get it Disney you own ESPN but you know what I’m Interested in character development from the first movie not an ad for ESPN because that’s just what this feels like an advertisement for ESPN

@@moneylover318 year late or not this is my response No goofy shouldn’t have broken the ground rules but at the same time max didn’t need to act like an asshole when goofy is apologizing for what he did and he just brushes it off like “oh save you’re breath you’re apology means nothing” I hate when characters are written like that when one character is apologizing for what they did and the other character is just being a complete jackass about it I hate it with max here and I hate it with phin mason from the Spider-Man miles morales game it makes my blood boil where they’re trying to tell you something and you wait until the last second to screwed over to realize “oh no I should’ve listened I was wrong” it’s extremely irritating stop writing characters like that it doesn’t work

This movie has a dual nature to it. Most people tend to initially remember it as a bad and disappointing movie with a weak and cliched script and that undermines the first movie. But then they remember Bradley, Silvia and the poet, and then they smile and start liking the movie again because they remember the nice part, which to most is the new characters.

This movie is not that bad despite: Roxanne being not here and we got no reasons WHY Max and her broke up. It's like he completely forgot her or she doesn't exist. That's so sad ;( This character is likable, why rejecting her? The Gamas are lame villains. None of them is intimidating, funny or interresting. Why i would care about thoses guys? All thye do is cheat and got no punishment. Also i ignore everything about their past, parents, other dreams than winning a sport competition etc. In short, thoses characters are not developped at all and the mvoie would be better without them. The pointless '' romance '' between PJ and the cafe girl. It add nothing to the movie, is rushed and not developped. Why should i care about thoses two? Max attitude with his father. He's so rude and cruel with Goofy! It's like the teenager forgot his father brought him to Powerline concert. I was so dissapointed that he had to learn to appreciate Goofy again XS Silvia is not very interresting compare to Roxanne. She's not as cute or likable as her. All i see is a librarian with skilled dance moves... that's it! Nothing about her is intriguing, special or unique. Silvia is not terrible but i prefer Roxanne. Beside thoses points, the movie is ok. Not as good as the original though.
