Disparate is certainly not an unattractive quality; if anything it's a compliment. "disparate is not a bad word, it just means many" -- more specifically to refers to possessing many qualities or smaller entities that typically wouldn't be viewed as equivalent or similar. What Ari perceived may have been closer to the meaning of the word "desperate".
