It's _not_ that Disney has focused on the "Skywalker" era. It's that Disney's Lucasfilms has been trying to retcon the "Skywalker" era. To the vast majority of the franchise' fans (Old _and_ young), the "Skywalker" era _is_ Star Wars. What Disney is trying to do is equivalent to Mikey-D slapping a fish patty in a sesame seed bun and calling it a Big Mac.

I hope not. He was who decided that the original trilogy could only be seen as the chopped up "special editions". He retconned a bunch of stuff with the prequels, and thought Star Wars Jesus and midichlorians were a good idea. He sold to Disney when people didn't like his sappy Red Tails.
