Remembered this so well. Came back from work around 4am and my block was swarming with police officers. The body at the foot of the block was actually inside the small drain. Saw it when they removed it around 9.30am. And till today, 13 years after the murders, the 6th floor unit is still empty.

I don't think we will ever know if that's really how they acted, he could be lying for sympathy for all we know. But considering how the neighbor said they've always been arguing, it does make him slightly believable. Not to mention, the sole survivor of the incident could provide her insight on how they acted. His story does sound pretty believable too. He could've easily said that they physically abused him, mix the story in a way that painted the family in a bad light, but no, it was just verbal. The case was also in 2008 and the episode came out in 2015. If it was a lie, they would've mentioned it. Either way, he killed people over a damn expired fish, so alot of sympathy points gone lol. Also I read that they literally wrote "I love you" to eachother with their fucking blood. I guess they were a match made in hell lmao.

His story about him and his wife having "consentual sex" is highly unlikely. Let's just go with statistics & the psychology of killers, psychopaths or serial killers. Many of cases like this, the murderer had either forced sex on the victim right before or during killing them, and some had intercourse with the victims body AFTER the killing rampage. It's a part of the humiliation they want to give back to the victim, for taunting & embarrassing him. But mostly, it's a form of dominance, to finally have "control" over the victim. The wife/victim already hated him by that point. The odds of her willingly sweet talking & enticing the man to have sex with her, is highly unlikely. He was probably just scared forensics would find seman in her, so he purposely came forward with the story that his wife had lured him into having sex right before he ended up going on a murderous rampage.

The mother probably hoped that the killer wouldn’t see her hanging outside the flat but yea that was pretty dumb honestly. Not really, food is very important in a Chinese culture. Giving some good food signifies many things such as love, affection and giving face. You can see it when someone gives your favourite foods to eat when you have dinner family style.
