Satish, I was just recently diagnosed with a 50% blockage of my LAD artery which is the artery that supplies 50% of the blood to the heart. After extensive research, I discovered that a stent is only effective if the blockage is greater than 70%. If your father starts an exercise regimen along with a low carb, low saturated fat diet and statin therapy, he can halt the progression of the blockage.

@@HobbyOrganist means halfly biused? Then can go back home in the same day?
@HobbyOrganist2 жыл бұрын
@@nurulwahidah5140 Depends on how they have you scheduled, if you are scheduled to have an angiogram AND surgery, that could be the same day or you'd be admitted for the angiogram and have the surgery the next, if you have heart surgery expect to be staying at the hospital a few days. I went for the angiogram etc outpatient and had the surgery later. You MAY be kept overnight after the angiogram if that's what the doctor wants, but most likely you would go home the same day after it. From the photos I took, I was to be there at 8 AM, I was in a holding room prepped for the procedure at 11:16 am, I ordered lunch and was eating at 12:06 PM, last pic I took was at 1:09 PM and I went home some time later. I did have to get a blood draw before this day, and could not eat before. I had valve repair, so I was in the hospital later for 6 days, they insert a drain thru an incision above the belly button, and temporary pacemaker wires, both of which they removed about the 5th day, it was painless just felt wierd! The angiogram was nothing, it only took a few minutes

I am recovering from having a stent placed after a 80% blockage of a circumflex artery was found. I hate needles as much or more than most and I feel like I was attacked by a gang of vampires. I spent the night at the hospital and was poked all night. By morning I was DONE.After the Doc discharged me, the nurse said I had only one more shot then I could leave. I stuck out my bruised arm and she said, "No, we are done with your arms." Great I said. Then she lifted my shirt and stuck a needle into my stomach!! If this procedure does not "scare you straight" into a healthy lifestyle,losing weight etc, nothing will.

Same I got lucky and no blockages were found. I did a whole 360 on my lifestyle. I would hate to have future complications let alone open heart surgery, because of my obesity. I was pocked all night for blood work. So far I’ve lost 40 pounds with many more to go.

There is a limit for the dye amount. At the end of the case, all medications are recorded. There are different types of catheters, wires/tips. With some, you have to run a tiny glide wire through to straighten the tip for insertion.
