The National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership (NCMLP) hosted a virtual townhall event to discuss three significant Medicaid policy issues affecting disadvantaged communities served by safety-net health care, social services, and civil legal aid providers. The audience learnt about the Medicaid redetermination process happening for the first time in more than three years and what issues to look for when helping patients navigate this process. Panelists discussed the re-emergence of work requirements tied to Medicaid eligibility and the landscape of rules for undocumented persons. Attendees heard from national experts on Medicaid policy and MLP practitioners in the field working to secure coverage for low-income individuals.
