We do this a lot for patients who get “woozy” and pass out with blood draws/IV placements (aka vaso-vagal). Works like a charm usually to stave off the nausea part and give them something to focus on.

I was told Dramamine is a no go from my doctor. He prescribed zofran instead. The side effects of constantly using it is bad
@TexasbyStorm
@TexasbyStorm 6 ай бұрын
Isopropyl alcohol did not work for me. I had major surgery, instead of putting zofran in my IV the nurse decided to sign me up for this "study" they were doing with post-op patients and opted to stick rubbing alcohol right under my nose. The alcohol burned my nostrils, made my eyes burn and I started coughing, which I had been cut breast bone to pubic bone, ribs separated apart, filled my abdominal cavity with 107° chemotherapy, quick sewn up, had the chemo shaken for a bit, opened back up, chemo sucked out and then finished sewn up for good. The coughing caused such severe pain it made me dry heave, which increased the pain even more. My doctor was PISSED OFF! I'm delirious with pain, nausea and exhaustion and can still hear him cussing her out for "TRYING SOME STUPID STUDY ON MY FUCKING PATIENTS INSTEAD OF GIVING THE MEDICINE PRESCRIBED AS SOON AS IT WAS TIME." This was in 2010 and no cancer has returned, so the procedure worked for me! But I wouldn't use rubbing alcohol on people who are unable to speak.

For perpetual nausea, peppermint oil saved me through all 3 pregnancies.
@kaymarie1246
@kaymarie1246 2 жыл бұрын
I had terrible morning sickness that was actually 24/7🤢 through my pregnancies. My mother-in-law sent me peppermint tea and candies saying it was used for hundreds of years and worked liked a charm. I tried. I really did, but I detest peppermint anything. I shared it with my friends and it worked wonderfully for them and I gave it to my husband and kids when needed. My beloved grandmama said ginger always worked for her, and that has worked for me. I drink ginger tea regularly now and have ginger drops. The alcohol trick is the fastest and the best though and you don’t have to put anything in your mouth. You can buy a box at the pharmacy and always keep a couple in your bag and key places in the house. My oldest is a projectile vomiter(like in The Exorcist) and this trick has been a lifesaver in the cleaning department! Not exaggerating, one time after a surgery, without warning he threw up laying in his hospital bed. It arched over the bed completely, hit and splattered all over the bathroom door and wall across the room! I’ve seen a lot, but that was the most impressive and scary because at first we thought it was blood and then realized it was red Jell-O. The room looked like a murder scene. Buy the alcohol pads!!

If only that worked for hyperemesis gravidarum. I was slipping away from not eating for so long that they prescribed an abortion to save my life. I'm traumatized by the amount of times I heard ginger and peppermint, or sea bands or the pressure points, or acupuncture, or yada yada yada NOTHING worked to save me. I'm still in soul shock from almost losing my life.

@@DivineLightPaladin that’s why I only say that for ACTUAL tummy aches. Or illnesses where the constituents of the joining of those two things could ACTUALLY do some good. But there is also French green clay, and the classic, and real life thing, coconut water and lime juice. But pregnancy? Depending on the woman? Those things that soothe one Madame, can harm another Madame and potentially harm the life she WANTS to meet…☹️ so I ALWAYS recommend lots of self care, making the Doctor’s second house worth it, whatever the hell! Idgaf if I have a wand! I’ll send your ass to the HOSPITAL!!! You need a whole Buffalo with cheese sauce!!! Volcano cake on the side!!! Also the hot tubs been drained and cleaned, then refilled for you to go sit in for a while….. why don’t you do that while sheets are changed and fudge bombs brought out? Oh…. Fried cheese? Ok! Even better! Wtf….. Moms come in different shapes, sizes, and needs. I don’t have kids? But I AM A KID! And I don’t like Moms shaming others and preaching the opposite. Shame is shame, and it is seen by us. ALL OF US! So stop! One serves oranges and one has snack pack! Big deal!? Some days I can’t stand the sugar in the pudding and CRAVE the orange! What now!? Quit it! It’s bullshit!!! Moms exhausting other moms already exhausted by their kids and ALL HAVING BABY DADDY TROUBLES OR SOMETHING!!!! Damn!!! Just support each other for a change! Is that so bad?!?

Went to ER for worst migraine of my life, heavy nausea, light, sound, and smell hypersensitivity. ER nurse used to be a EMT and tried the isopropyl trick without warning. I almost projectile vomited. Sensitive smell during pregnancy said NOPE F that. Doesn’t work for everyone and definitely ask to try something before shoving a strong smell in patient’s face. He apologized and we moved on but that was not a fun ride. Was given pregnancy safe migraine medication via IV and finally got some sleep.

Homeopathy is amazing for morning sickness tel you family with the natural medicine modality of homeopathy?? It’s really involved to learn but amazing also I’m a mineral analysis practitioner and the hormones mess up the sodium potassium ratio causing nausea and zinc helps rebalance but don’t take it isolated. Use foods high in it. Pumpkin seeds are amazing a little palm helps like 50% helped me and everyone I told about it. Also the type of fiber in beans and oats will do wonders. Why that works is involved. just know it will work tons and help heartburn too

They tasted horrible but worked so fast. But then my body eventually got used to them. Now if I'm in the hospital they try to give me 4mg which is the normal dose and it does nothing. So basically my "friend" at the time, wanted to give me snus and I declined saying that it would make me vomit and he said he will give me one with 10 mg nicotine. So as soon as I took it I felt extremely dizzy and then he started laughing and showed me the package which said 40 FUCKING MG! Little story that this video reminded me of (because of vomiting) 2019 me a new dad. Worked overnight shifts and when i got home my baby would be crying ALL day (mom taking care of her she wasn't neglected. Just cried a lot) so i couldn't sleep. Around September so 9 months into that year i started getting sick for unknown reason. Constant migraines. Neck always hurting. Projectile vomiting from just drinking water. These tips would've helped. Doctors thought something was wrong with my brain and got me an MRI but it was just because i was so sleep deprived i got sick. Best part was i lost that job, didn't know so i went to the site, was told to go home, went home and was finally able to relax, passed out for 2 days straight not an exaggeration. Best rest I've ever gotten. Thought my wife would be mad at me but she saw how sick i was and let me rest since i literally worked 10 hours every single night (understaffed).
