Isopropyl alcohol did not work for me. I had major surgery, instead of putting zofran in my IV the nurse decided to sign me up for this "study" they were doing with post-op patients and opted to stick rubbing alcohol right under my nose. The alcohol burned my nostrils, made my eyes burn and I started coughing, which I had been cut breast bone to pubic bone, ribs separated apart, filled my abdominal cavity with 107° chemotherapy, quick sewn up, had the chemo shaken for a bit, opened back up, chemo sucked out and then finished sewn up for good. The coughing caused such severe pain it made me dry heave, which increased the pain even more. My doctor was PISSED OFF! I'm delirious with pain, nausea and exhaustion and can still hear him cussing her out for "TRYING SOME STUPID STUDY ON MY FUCKING PATIENTS INSTEAD OF GIVING THE MEDICINE PRESCRIBED AS SOON AS IT WAS TIME." This was in 2010 and no cancer has returned, so the procedure worked for me! But I wouldn't use rubbing alcohol on people who are unable to speak.

For perpetual nausea, peppermint oil saved me through all 3 pregnancies.
@kaymarie12462 жыл бұрын
I had terrible morning sickness that was actually 24/7🤢 through my pregnancies. My mother-in-law sent me peppermint tea and candies saying it was used for hundreds of years and worked liked a charm. I tried. I really did, but I detest peppermint anything. I shared it with my friends and it worked wonderfully for them and I gave it to my husband and kids when needed. My beloved grandmama said ginger always worked for her, and that has worked for me. I drink ginger tea regularly now and have ginger drops. The alcohol trick is the fastest and the best though and you don’t have to put anything in your mouth. You can buy a box at the pharmacy and always keep a couple in your bag and key places in the house. My oldest is a projectile vomiter(like in The Exorcist) and this trick has been a lifesaver in the cleaning department! Not exaggerating, one time after a surgery, without warning he threw up laying in his hospital bed. It arched over the bed completely, hit and splattered all over the bathroom door and wall across the room! I’ve seen a lot, but that was the most impressive and scary because at first we thought it was blood and then realized it was red Jell-O. The room looked like a murder scene. Buy the alcohol pads!!

Not the same, but I have always had an incredibly sensitive nose and been called a bloodhound my entire life. Can’t use perfume, most lotions, etc., without getting a migraine. Someone who routinely spends far more time with patients than doctors do, such as nurses and ER Techs, commonly know the most effective "hacks". Squeeze lemon juice into a water bottle and sip throughout the day. Lemon into 7up is also effective. I had 24/7 nausea with vomiting, lost 12 lbs. during 1st 8 weeks, Doc threatened hospitalization and iv. It was awful. I think the vitamin c was helpful as orange juice did the trick in my other pregnancy where the vomiting wasn't as persistent.

Funny story about how I avoided vomiting on the bus. So basically my "friend" at the time, wanted to give me snus and I declined saying that it would make me vomit and he said he will give me one with 10 mg nicotine. So as soon as I took it I felt extremely dizzy and then he started laughing and showed me the package which said 40 FUCKING MG! Of nicotine, eventually we got on a bus and I was about to puke and his girlfriend offered me some Coke Zero and magically after I drank it, I didnt feel the need to vomit anymore. Apparently coke has a chemical that prevents vomiting

Little story that this video reminded me of (because of vomiting) 2019 me a new dad. Worked overnight shifts and when i got home my baby would be crying ALL day (mom taking care of her she wasn't neglected. Just cried a lot) so i couldn't sleep. Around September so 9 months into that year i started getting sick for unknown reason. Constant migraines. Neck always hurting. Projectile vomiting from just drinking water. These tips would've helped. Doctors thought something was wrong with my brain and got me an MRI but it was just because i was so sleep deprived i got sick. Best part was i lost that job, didn't know so i went to the site, was told to go home, went home and was finally able to relax, passed out for 2 days straight not an exaggeration. Best rest I've ever gotten. Thought my wife would be mad at me but she saw how sick i was and let me rest since i literally worked 10 hours every single night (understaffed).
