I did a lot of dermatology work in Thailand. I did a lot of research in other countries and what I found is that a lot of the top doctors in other countries were educated IN the United States! So this false notion that you're not getting the same quality of care that you'd get in the US is just a giant media trope and corporate talk to keep your money in the US and keep you paying high insurance premiums. A lot of the times you'd get even better care outside the US than you would in the US especially when you're paying out of pocket for private one-on-one care.

@JomerTB Excellent point, and Thailand's Private health care system is on par with that of the USA.

The education might be from US but that doesn’t mean the care is the same. Each country has their own standard and legal system. They can still cut corners or have a different,“lower”, standard than the US because the standard is set by THEIR government.

@@acebutterfly2725This is an age old argument, which assumes that the USA has the Greatest Standard of Care! Now while the Standard of Care in the USA is Excellent, it is also just as Excellent in a Country like Thailand!! And it just happens to be a lot less costly to the consumer in Thailand.

@@georgeandy6923 There are flaws in your logic. Your original post, which I replied to was making the claim - because many international doctors are trained in the US the care is the same in these countries. That logic is incorrect. Just because someone is trained in US, doesn’t mean the care will be the same. You can, however, argue that the TRAINING or EDUCATION of international docs are generally the same as US. Then you replied to my comment with a straw man argument, trying to debunk a position that I never held. You are conflating standard of care and training. These are not the same, as I said, the gov’t of these nations have different standard, that is a fact etc.
