Graves' Disease (Hyperthyroidism) Explained - Made Easy
Graves Disease is an autoimmune disease characterized by hyperthyroidism due to circulating autoantibodies. It is also the leading cause of hyperthyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland produces excessive hormones. It affects up to 2% of the female population, sometimes appears after childbirth, and occurs seven to eight times more often in women than in men. Once the disorder has been correctly diagnosed, it is quite easy to treat. In some cases, Graves’ disease goes into remission or disappears completely after several months or years. Left untreated, however, it can lead to serious complications and even death.

I had hyperthyroidism in 2008, seen my natural path couple months into it, she told me to quit drinking caffeinated drinks, took one month but everything returned to normal. My heart rate was 100 bpm I was hot all the time, got pimples again, like a teenager(im 40) and I had the shakes like a recovering alcoholic, but I had energy of three guys, I got a lot done that summer, till I got fixed. Then I would get tired before midnight. But biggest thing was NO CAFFENE That's what worked for me.

that's awesome you were able to cure it. unlike graves disease, i had to kill my thyroid before it killed me. I wish it could have been fixed i hate being permanently hypothyroid now.

It has taken twenty-one years, but my doctors are finally about to find out once and for all if I have Grave's Disease, Hashimodo's Disease, both, or neither. After receiving dozens of contradicting and evolving diagnoses starting with a bout of traumatic brain injury when I was six months old, my advice to anyone reading this is that your physical and mental aptitude do not necessitate a name such as "autism" or "ADHD", because there are no absolutes to the human body which is just an arrangement of molecules in a combination, and everyone's strengths and weaknesses are different.

It's not pleasant. I've had it for 7+ years . I'm allergic to the medication amongst other ridiculous things. The weight Loss part was the worst thing I've ever had to do. It was miserable. going form 234 pounds to 99 pounds in less than a month. It was depressing, at times almost hard to believe & comprehend.

It basically destroys your thyroid gland but then you get hypothyroidism which is basically the opposite... and you have to be on hypothyroid drugs for life. The only bright side is that hypothyroid drugs have less side effects.
