Same. I am so tired and traumatised by all this gaslighting and wrong diagnosis with heavy surgery errors. All doctors instantly hate me, when i just say a word about it and sadly the surgery errors still cause me a lot of trouble. I can´t afford a lawyer and it is just a total waste of time to go to a doctor anyway. If don´t google, nobody will help me anyway. Not even with the right nonsurgical therapies.

As a teenager, after an injury I went through a dozen surgeries. Somewhere after the fifth one, I started having panic attacks at the sight of doctors, especially surgeons. They stopped after one of the docs started letting me do some things myself, like pull out drains and take out stitches and staples (that was pretty cool actually). Point is, I have a lot of experience and I know myself. Like, if a blood test is needed, I know which veins on me will work and which are impossible to hit. Do they listen? No. Never. They send one phlebotomist after another after another and each thinks they are the best and can do what no one else can. It's kinda torturous and it doesn't have to be.
@outoftheforest7652Ай бұрын
I donate plasma and i had a new phlebotomist and I told her the needle does not have to go in very far and I didn't think she heard me and so I repeated it and she kind of snapped at me "I heard you' but she STILL put the needle in too far and someone else later had to come in and back it out.. sigh.

I was punched by my ex in the ribs, went to ER in terrible pain. They said the XR didn't show a fracture, sent me home with motrin. I was in so much pain so i returned to the ER, got a ct scan which showed 2 ribs fractured. now finally they gave me something stronger for the pain. These doctors don't take pain seriously and they don't beleive the patient. funny thing, I had a follow up XR done a few weeks later at an immediate care center, and they saw the fractures on my ribs. so makes me think they lied at my first ER visit. I also had severe abdominal pain once, and got a very horrific internal exam and left the ER in pain. I went back later that evening and a different docter ordered a ct scan which showed a dilated ureter, which meant I had passed a kidney stone. its truly horrible how they assume everyone is a drug seeker, as drug seekers would not hassle with going to the ER and being there for several hours, when they can get drugs on the street much easier.

Doctors are people. The first story I don't think was malicious. Sounds like a failure of the tests. He did exactly what you're supposed to do since MRIs are expensive. I am terminally ill. Some docs are good. Some don't listen and are know it alls. Most bad doctors I think are just over worked, under staffed, and don't have enough time per patient. They can't even write correctly, lol. Man if only I could go back in time in early 2022. I was told I would be dead over and over so I took any doctor I could get. At the time I didn't think I had time to wait months to see a different doctor. I was under 70 pounds. So yeah, all of us thought I'd be dead. I didn't let it bother me. That is the key to success. You wake up one day at a time, and do what you can no matter how hard. Turns out I did have time. While my liver is destroyed I think I could have saved my kidneys knowing what I do now. Second doctor of the story is crap and I've seen a lot of em.

I left his office traveled into the next county (university-medical-only-procedure) and that surgeon correctly said "discuss w anes @ pre-op appt"..... anes MD spoke w me, pulled my current records, and moved my short outpatient surgery to the inpatient O.R. per my current "high risk for general anesthesia" profile. My 1st time under general went great 100% directed/controlled by an excellent anes MD 👍

In 2019 the ER doctor told me my abdominal pain and sudden weight loss definitely wasn't appendicitis like I thought, it was acid reflux, and I need to take prilosec. 2 weeks later my appendix ruptured. Later that year another ER doctor told me my new abdominal pain was ovarian cysts, despite me saying I'd had those before, and even had one rupture, but this pain was different. I suggested it was maybe related to my appendectomy. Got a dismissal and an ob/gyn referral. Ob/gyn said it didn't sound like cysts. 2 weeks later I came back to the ER with a 103° fever. I lost 13 inches of small intestine and got a Crohn's diagnosis. Ovarian cysts and acid reflux my ass.

The problem is when I am sick and out of power and in foreign country I have zero force to argue via Google translate. Usually doctors are also ignorant and unpleasant. I had enough unpleasant situations e.g. was cathered in a way I bled from my cervix post laparoscopy. Pressure 80/40. Nobody gave a monkey about my condition in the hospital. My dad called his friend who is a dean at local uni. After his words wth started to happen. I was cathered again so all the blood was removed from my bladder. And I was given anti clot medications... Great. Then a clot plugged the cather and nobody wanted to remove the cather claiming I'm crazy... And I could not relieve myself and started to get back ale and weird abdominal contraction. Eventually a nurse removed the cather to reveal it was plugged by a clot. I was dismissed with bladder cancer diagnosis which was one big bullshit. I had to cure resulting infection for over a year on my own. I think a group of baboons would do a better job.

Many patients who say they don't want a certain anesthetic do so because their SE trauma therapist told them to avoid it at all cost (based on the experience that the body is still going to remember being cut open, and if you delete the memory from the mind, it is much harder to integrate the experience (stitching body, mind and emotions back together) - which might be crucial especially for folks with previous nervous system challenges). Since that kind of thinking doesn't make a lot of sense to most anesthesiologists, they have the option to either lie, relying on the trauma therapist, or submit/entrust themselves to the anesthesiologist. I don't think a lot of patients have their gut sense about medication preferences (though my grandpa did when unbeknownst to him there was an error in his documentation and he suddenly kept shouting that they needed to double-check).

But I’ve seen videos of the same procedure or other surgeries like them. They don’t seem to maintain modesty for the patient that’s being filmed. So if that’s happening, then how do you truly know that the nurse who is circulating in the OR for your surgery is making sure that they are maintaining optimal modesty?

I’ve had psychiatrists trying to gaslight me, usually trying to pressure me into taking medication x, y or z, saying that my previous experiences with them can’t have happened, my symptoms always require x, y or z and there’s no other treatment protocol or by painting it as a simple fix situation. Unfortunately for them, I happen to be a research psychologist, (with a focus on an area that includes my own symptoms), you know, the people who write their textbooks… and could call them out on their bullshit. Of course I let them finish first though, because it is somewhat amusing watching them digging themselves into a hole. Anyhow, I ended up going to a new psychiatrist on all three occasions and they ended up getting an ego check and hopefully catching up on the current research or doing a bit of a refresher, although I’m near certain that they won’t. At the very least, I hope they are a bit more hesitant next time they’re trying to use gaslighting and false medical information to coerce patients into blind compliance.

My right hand wasn't working quite right for most of my life. I did a grip strength test for a job application and there was something weird about that. When I got home, I put my right hand on the table, put my left hand on the pinky and yanked hard twisting clockwise. Took a couple month to heal, but it works the way it should now. I think I have to do something similar to my left ankle.

My anesthesiologist offered to yell at my surgeon for me. The surgeon spent 6 months telling me I would be under twilight but the anesthesiologist told me the morning of it'd be general. Anesthesiologist understood why I was upset and even offered to change anesthesia plans.

Am betting you don't provide services for that surgeon anymore

I don´t know if those doctors just give up to early, or if they are just so overstressed that they just have un unconscious need to diagnose patients with the "You have nothing and don´t show up if symptoms persists-Diagnose"

You DON’T GET IT!!!!! YOU are their PEER. We are just idiots who Google too much. I went to the doctor as a 12-year old fir a broken finger. The doctor grabbed, pulled, squeezed and twisted my finger and declared, “If it were broken, that would have really hurt.”
