Very specific, and interesting, question. Cannot see why not.

Can you do a video on how to safely hand someone a threaded suture and how to safely dispose a threaded suture needle?
@Jamtarts2025 Жыл бұрын
The suture is handed to you in its package previously opened by the assistant, you pick the needle with the holder so you can start suturing. When you finish suturing you cut the leftover thread and then dispose the needle on its special box for sharp objects that's commonly yellow.

I think there's no correct way to handle. Every surgeon i see handles it the way they feel comfortable and thats the important thing to feel comfortable.
@MEDICINEinaNutshell2 жыл бұрын
Excellent point. Thank you. However the video is made to be a foundation of instrument handling for young surgeons just getting started. Inevitably once they get proficient surgeons gravitate to what works for them.

Excuse me Sir Can I buy those tools for saturing? I just want to practice
@MEDICINEinaNutshell3 жыл бұрын
I would suggest that you do NOT buy a suturing kit online; they are too expensive. Better to purchase disposable instruments - needle holder, toothed dissecting forceps and straight scissors. If you contact a disposable instruments rep, they may even give you these as samples. Good luck.

I'm a speech therapist learning how to use a hemostat safely to change tracheoesophageal voice prostheses to help my head and neck cancer patients. Dr. Sanjib/Dr. Chad, is this how I hold a hemostat at 1:28 too, please? Using my thumb and ring fingers, stabilizing the tool with my middle finger, and using my index finger to direct, grasp, and pull out the voice prosthesis, eh?

Which subjects would you consider essential for surgeon?
@MEDICINEinaNutshell9 ай бұрын
There are specific subject requirements for entry into medical school; these vary depending on medical school.

@@MEDICINEinaNutshell I am in med school 2nd year (out of 6 in my country). I would like to know which subjects at med school you consider the most important for surgeons? I will have to learn them all, of course. Rather those I should know inside out.
