It is bad when you account for much Clone Saga there is. It’s a story that should have ended after a touching passing of a series mainstay but the editors kept it going and going. It’s just more readable than Modern Marvel because the writer isn’t insufferable or have no grasp on basic storytelling.

Ever since I bought this figure imo I think it’s one of the more durable mafex figures that’s not likely to break so easily, and all you really have to do is loosen up the joints a bit and you got one of the most spectacular mafex Spider-Man figures ready to pose

Nice review! I just got this one in a couple of days ago and have been messing around with it. Definitely needs some lubrication in those hips. If I tried to bend the legs on mine the way you're able to bend this figure on camera I'd snap something. The little spider logo and lack of shading is a bit of a bummer, but I do love this costume and he looks good on the shelf. I may have to double dip if they ever do a comic shaded version of this one like they did for Spider-Man.

There’s no greater spider man action figure on planet earth than the one made by Mafex. The 2004 18 inch hyper articulated figure is great too but the size disqualifies it because it’s a solo giant of a figure that you have to use on its own. The Mafex figures are totally in line with ANY other figure line in 6 inch size that you put them with and they have the best posability and accessories you could ask for. One thing that truly amazed me as an artist is how it paired up with the marvel select hulk (which is a mammoth figure in and of itself) and showcases the imposing nature of hulk against the wiry and agile frame of spider man. In the right poses you can get tremendous photos from this amazing pairing!

A decent fig, but I think Mafex have overused this almost 5 year old mould now and need to create a new mould for their comic Spideys. A Mafex live action Tobey and Andrew would also be amazing, especially considering Mafex's accurate facial likenesses, body sculpts and details.

Main thing for me would be the knees, look at sentinel Peter b, and how deep the legs can fold. Mafex isn't even close in that regard.

This figure actually has a different torso from other spiderman figure from mafex. -All Default Peter Spidey are the only ones that got reused over and over. (Including web-man) -Ben Reilly Spidey and Black Suit uses the same mold which is different from the peter molds (This mold has a more defined muscle) -While this new one uses some of the black suit part + a new torso piece. (New torso piece is a very thin body)

This figure is definitely lacking the iconic shading and darker red color that Scarlet Spider is known for. Really hope they fix this with another release or some company makes a figure based off Across the Spider-Verse version.

My Mafex Nightwing is coming in today, and I was thinking... is it worth it to sell of my Legends collection to go all in on Mafex? They seem so much better than their hasbro counterparts.

Depends. Do you want entire teams?Mafex has a very specific focus on eras and artists. They release a handful of figures a year with about a year and a half to two year turnaround on most figures. I've no doubt they'll complete the Jim Lee era Blue and Gold X-Men, but it's a long way off, and if you're jumping in now, you're already behind with Cyclops and the Wolverines. Same for Hush Batman. Great figures, but good luck getting Catwoman as of now. Do you want something not Knightfall or Death of Superman? That's their focus at the moment, two figures at a time. Hasbro the last year has also made decent strides with plastic quality, likenesses and printing, and the pinless joints. I think any X-Men fan should have an easy time banging out the '90s team with the new 97 figures coming this fall. And as much as I love the mafex Spider-Man, I do think the renew your vows Spidey is very possible and playable as a daily driver for your desk. I initially got into Mafex for Batman and X-Men, but have branched into a few of their other releases. Even though they're pricey, the way they space out releases and their quality evens out to me. Personally, I don't think it's an either or choice, because you limit yourself either way.

I like this figure but I feel like Medicom mixed a lot of different designs to make it. I wish the hoodie came with a bigger spider and the belt is missing the red button. The belt matches with McFarlane's cover from planet of the symbiotes, which is funny because I think they also reused one of the Symbiote Spidey headsculpts, too. Great figure, but their design is all over the place.
