Honestly a video or two about how to make a costume look worn and beat up would be amazing! Everything from detailing fabric to metal and leather!

This is great! I’m already making notes. I’m gonna print out “Function = Believability” and stick it to the wall so whenever I work on costumes, I’ll see it.

1) Thank you for this series! It'll be a resource I didn't know I needed until now. 2) "Pants-less peasants" = me stifling laughter in the family room at 1am

The tips start at 4:30. The beginning is mostly disclaimers and intro. You can still watch it if you want to.

This is a great resource. I love your point about function = believability. Having done the full-plate knight kit the hard way with very little functionality I can attest to this one-hundred percent. Thanks!

I’m excited about this series! I’m not very familiar with the LARP world so I’d like to hear more about gear makers; I’m a maker myself so I would appreciate content on methods and materials as well.

Love it! Those tips make a great list of questions to answer while planing. Thanks for sharing. ♡ I'd love to see you guys working around color palletes. Using one shot from one of your short films, a photo from Instagram. Something like... "in this photo we chose those colours pared to this ton ou leather armour, because it fits better with location" or whatever logic you use.

very informative. Would love to see this done in a future episode where you plan and execute this from start to finish for a character concept. I've seen you do this for a cos-player but I'd love to see it with a larper or reenactor. Thanks :)

Anyone have recommendations on the best place to get medieval clothing (1150-1335AD) for men (English), women (Iberian) and children that also doesn't look out of place in the modern world? I was thinking that footwear like the following could suit (whilst not necessarily being perfect) Men: Sandals, Espadrilles, Ropes Sandals, Empire Sandals, Leather Thongs, Menorcan Sandals, Gladiator Sandals, Clogs, Monk Strap, Moccasins, Woven Sandals, Suede Loafer, Chukka Boots, Chelsea boots, Plimsolls, Cuban Heel Chelsea Boots, Chukka Desert Boot, Driving Shoes, Women: Strappy Tie-up Sandals, Knotted Suede Toe Post Sandal, Cross Strap flat sandals, Raffia double strap slide sandals, woven leather tie leg sandal, Mules, Clogs, Over the Knee Boots, Ballet Flats, Lace Up Knee High Boots, Stirrup Boots, Slouch Boot, Desert Lace Up Shoes, Cuban heel western Chelsea boot with buckle detail. Likewise, Quilted Clothing (like Quilted Sweatshirt, Quilted Puffer Coat, Quilted Coat, Quilted Tracksuit Pants, Quilted Tracksuit Top, Quilted Jumper) could suffice for Civilian Gambeson. I’m also thinking that Tunics (Knee, Cocktail, Midi or Maxi Length), Leggings, Tights, Long Sleeved V Neck Shirt, Tank Top, Henley Shirt, Track Pants, Hoodie, T-Shirt with Notch Neck, Driving Gloves, Suede Gloves, Leather Gloves could be used. Correct me if I’m wrong

Taking the pants off is very awkward from our modern perspective, but probably more practical for air flow and cooling with the long shirts. The crotch holds a lot of heat.

me and my friends are making a fantasy story just for fun and i think we made the arms and armor too realistic, we just ripped them off from history, what should we add or change in order for them to look unique but still be believable?
@fellandfair
@fellandfair 3 жыл бұрын
You can mix and match a bit, also just small tweaks here are there can make it unique. But honestly some of the best fantasy does that. Tolkien used almost all historical armor in LotR. You can also mix and match cultures with similar technology.

Suggestion: Do a "power point" as opposed to a talking head. Keep the illustration photos coming and just talk over them.
