One interesting thing about the censored "Dragon Death" on the Damsel ramp... it's a setting on physical pinball tables. You can set it up so it displays the decapitation in all of its glory! I absolutely loved this pinball table, but it has a couple of annoying design flaws... the main one is that if two balls enter the catapult at the same time, said catapult often doesn't have enough power to eject the balls, leaving them stuck and requiring physical maintenance. In fact, I've seen operators remove the wire gate that stops balls from rolling out when they enter, just so the game doesn't get hard-locked. The other one is that the Damsel ramp can sometimes get misaligned with wear and tear, making the final shot into the tower very difficult if not impossible. The last one is mostly a freak bit of physics but I had it happen to me once... during "Smack A Troll", a troll popped up as the ball was rolling over it, catapulting it into the air, where it landed inside the castle parapet!! Also there's a risk of the glass shattering when this happens at other times because they propel the metal balls straight up into it. Regarding the catapult items, at least from what I've experienced, the point values are randomised each game. Unlocking all 5 does unlock Banyard Multiball, which is a fun little point builder whose jackpot grows with each successful target hit (which is essentially everything), so the longer you make it last, the better. Got to love Video Mode too, as that's usually an easy Extra Ball (light up the "Fire" lights in the in-lanes and out-lanes 8 times and then hit Merlin's Magic. You can get it twice, but the second time requires lighting up the "Fire" lights 40 times!). Also, a fun one, but I never experienced it... only the guy who actually taught me to play pinball... if you activate Royal Madness enough times (I think it's after you complete it 3 times), it stops rewarding you Extra Balls, but instead nets you 15,000,000 points instead. Also Battle for the Kingdom's final jackpot increases by 50,000,000 each time you complete it!

Excellent video. Too many pin tutorials miss important bits of the game. This one covers everything nicely. I've gotten to Battle For The Kingdom, but haven't beat it yet. Found out that if you loose all your balls during Battle of the Kingdom you have to START OVER!

It was tough to make this video. There were many failed attempts. Also, if I'm remembering correctly, I won the Battle For The Kingdom, but there was a problem with recording - so I had to do it again. 🤦🏻♂ It was exciting though, quite an adventure. 🙂

The main thing I like about this table is the that the Timers are so forgiving. You can be out of Time and it will give you some extra time to finish the task. It’s a fairly easy Table compared to other Williams Tables
@PhoticsTV2 жыл бұрын
That's why I like this table. It has balance. Beginners can play it and have fun, but there's still plenty of challenge for advanced players. You can see the design decisions where they sided in favor of the player - they let people have fun. It literally says, "For Amusement" 😄
@michaeljorcutt31422 жыл бұрын
@@PhoticsTV not to debate, but all the Tables say “For Amusement Only” to discourage wagering. At least that’s what they all say in a traditional Arcade setting. :)

Practically all Williams and bally games from the 90s on at least have grace periods on all its timers 🙃

Excellent video, especially so considering you were able to win Battle for the Kingdom without bringing in troll bombs. I cracked up at the whole “Houston, we have a problem” bit. Also, there *is* a movie with shocking similarities to this pin - you ever seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail?
@PhoticsTV2 жыл бұрын
Ha ha! 😆 “Tough luck, hero!” Failure was an option 🤪 I did see Monty Python and the Holy Grail. But that was first. It's a movie from the 1980s… nooooo… even before that… 1975. 🙀 Now I'm surprised that they didn't remake that movie. (I suppose Spamalot is kinda close, a Broadway spinoff, but I didn't see that.) The funny thing about the Trolls, if you can shoot the ball past them, it's not so bad. The way they're angled, it can be easier to catch the ball after it hits the gate. But, I think it's probably easier with Troll Bombs. 🙂

There's one neat trick you didn't mention. Before starting the wizard mode, begin the Royal Madness. If the Battle for the Kingdom is lit before or during Royal Madness and you shoot the lit castle, Royal Madness is immediately completed and awards you an extra ball.
@PhoticsTV6 ай бұрын
Interesting, but that sounds like a difficult trick. I could barely get the catapult completed during this run. 😄

Nice play. But that simulation is really a stupid adaptation with all those extra effects like the ball trails and the dragon and dust... the game is absolutely great and can live without additional unrealistic animation.
@PhoticsTV2 жыл бұрын
There is the option to turn off the added effects, but I think it's neat. Having the actual pinball game is probably a better experience, but I couldn't afford one when they were new, and I missed out when they did the remake. Even if I could buy a new Medieval Madness pinball table, I'm not sure where I'd put it. 😄

@@PhoticsTV yeah, original tables are big and expensive. Plus you have lots of maintenance to do because every so often something breaks. I own an DOCTOR WHO and I have to fix things quite often
