@@purromemes7395 The melody / theme itself, yes, but this particular interpretation of it, no, not the way it's orchestrated etc. There is a lot of speculation as it is in the way that medieval music ensembles of today bring that music to life, but these guys really take it for a new spin, making it more familiar to modern ears. SADLY we have little information on how medieval music sounded. As far as notation goes, all that they did write down was the melody lines, and they would improvise on them, kinda like how jazz musicians would improvise on a written theme. The rest of info comes mostly from images, illustrated miniatures in manuscripts that would show what instruments they played and how they were grouped together (maybe you know all this, but I'm leaving it here for others to see too)

As a musician in this genre, I can confirm this. The bagpipes they use are even a fairly modern re-development and not in any way historical. There have been efforts at reconstructing the actual music and instruments, but to our modern ears it mostly sounds fairly boring and unengaging. Golda Meir asked the world leaders for help in apprehending the Terrorists but no one was willing to help them. So she said "Ok" and activated agents from "The Institute" as it is called and all over Europe they found killed members of the Black September Organization. Mossad wiped them out completely, left none of that organization alive. And when the world complained about this she just shrugged her shoulders at them. Our leaders of today should take lessons from that lady.

I don't know if I really would love to actually live in those times or not. Medieval music is more like a passage to some fantastic world to me. And I would love to keep it that way. Wouldn't wanna risk ruining the romanticism of it ever haha .

Glad to know that ignorant people hate medieval times based on false stereotypes.

This is such a great song to boost your morale when you are jousting or at least riding. Those beats are perfect for a galoping horse. Then I guess I should say it fits riding better, since you don't galop while jousting

I have a bit of a medieval streak in me. I love medieval history and legends, a great majority of my stories (I'm an aspiring author) take place in medieval times, and I'm taking a college course this semester that focuses on medieval lit. And, of course, I love listening to medieval music!
