juliet bishop hi, there are many different ways of interpretation of this text. If I was you I would google it and find that translated version you like best. I like this one the best: "O thou existence Absolute, Creator of the three dimensions, we contemplate upon thy divine light. May He stimulate our intellect and bestow upon us true knowledge." Or simply, "O Divine mother, our hearts are filled with darkness. Please make this darkness distant from us and promote illumination within us."

El mantra Gāyatrī o Gáiatri es una de las oraciones más reverenciadas del hinduismo. Gáiatri es la forma femenina de la palabra sánscrita gaiatra, que es un himno o canto. Gáiatri es el nombre de un tipo de metro poético védico de 24 sílabas (3 grupos de 8 sílabas cada uno), o cualquier himno compuesto con ese metro.
