Now, I’m across the country. Moved to Cali to get away from it all, truth be told. The alcoholism. The weather he speaks of. The wrecklessness. And now that it has been a couple of years, I still miss her, knowing that I’d go back to Florida of all states if she only wanted me to be there. Speaks so much of how us humans move and migrate. Out of tune. Unsure of where we belong. Unsure of who to serve here in this reality. Started dating someone afterwards for a few months. And I would’ve stayed there in Jax if I felt like I should have. But I listened to my heart, moved here to Cali, and I married my one true love.
