Actually Ada in ranked jailor will be at the top with mayor as It's also a confrimed town as jailor almost allways claim day 1 atleast in classic ranked im not sure about coven ranked.

One thing I like to do as Town when there is a Medium is to just have random conversations with them, and they can use it as dead chat, or initiate a random conversation when I am Medium so I have something to post. Absolutely nobody spends 37 seconds to say "med?" and "just you [#]", which is probably the most common fake Medium dead chat there is, so it is a nice way to give Mediums some credibility :)

@@sz2yn Pro tip for any townies, type a name that is easy to make errors in. Examples include tYpIng LIkE tHis, random gibberish (better yet if you use a computer to make it actually random), using symbols like the greek letters, or dyslexia traps like John Hawthorne.

I've actually always liked medium as a role, though I can see how players might get frustrated by it. But when it works, it works and usually blindsides evils from what I've seen.

Quick tip: Try not to seance the jailor if there are any alternatives, because the jailor has to talk to the person they jailed as well as the medium, and it gets confusing.

I understand saying you should claim med d1 when you get the role to stop players from leaving, but playing a silent medium has worked out pretty well for me before. Being silent even in dead chat so that nobody knows a med exists leads to evils often leaking information to other dead players thinking they're just watching the rest of the game from the sidelines. Town often doesn't believe you when you give a definitive list of the remaining mafia and the witch, but letting them lynch you to confirm gets all evils outed at once, with a seance left in case you somehow need to help town out even more.

All I'm saying is, when theres 3 dead mediums and a Pirate, you are all obligated to pick a different option and seance the pirate telling them to pick a DIFFERENT option. Just make them REAL confused about whats happening.

The 1 fix idea i had for medium is to have a message to players when they dielike "you died to blahhh 'but you feel a presence listening' " as this would make they slightly more comfortable staying

I like playing classic and usually as a medium I sit and watch and try to read who the evils are, but if noone starts leading then I'll start pushing people for roles as MEDIUM. I kid you not I've been listened to more as medium while pushing people than as jailor.

The first time I play medium I didn't know how the game worked and was thrown into the deep end by a friend. The funny part was I thought I would only be able to speak once to a living player while also being living. quote from ability card (You may only speak to a living person once.) so I was silent all game and got lynched when I acted bmd and only said one line about being a medium.

Can you do a video on how a role like this would work? A lot of people have recommended a role like this in-game and players love the idea, ask someone. Defector (Mafia Deception) No def or attack Can change the way a player died. Ex: GF: I claim Vigi Town: Shoot [number] [Number] was shot by a Vigilante Town: GF is confirmed Vigi

I feel like that could be useful with a coordinated team, but I believe it should also have a condition of limited uses like forger and janitor. Also, like a forger, you can be certain a spy would call this out immediately, so, either have a consort rb the spy the night you wanna do it, or wait until the spy dies, because, unlike with forger, with a spy in game, you wouldn't actually be hiding any information. The reason I say it would work with a coordinated team is because, even if there isn't a spy, there won't be a maf kill that night, so... "GF, role?" 'Vigi' "Shoot Med to prove urself" *Med was shot by a Vigilante* 'See? I'm vigi' "Okay, but why no maf kills? Who was protected?" 'Uhh...' "He's not vigi, he's maf. Get em" As such, I feel this ability would only be very useful in coordination with your team's fake claims. Have the mafioso say they were doc on the GF or something like that, and that the GF was attacked for being Vigi. Now, of course, mafia could have just hit NK or NE (except for jest), so no maf kills and no protects wouldn't prove anything immediately, but if those roles are already dead you WILL need to coordinate it. Of course, in all any, I don't think that would be necessary. As long as there isn't a spy, you could do whatever you want as long as it sounds plausible, since the chance of maf hitting an immune would be much higher. Just make sure the mafioso accuses someone of being immune with their death note lol (when you're not changing the cause of death, of course)

A dead medium actually got sk out for me. I died as vigi but made the last second decision to shoot someone, they showed as immune, but i didnt even have enough time to write in my will that I was going to shoot them. Medium came in clutch there by seancing a town with that info and making the game way simpler and easier.

What’s important to remember when playing medium is the 5 minute penalty for leaving a game keep in mind that claiming early is very key to getting killed without getting reported for trying to die so playing aggressively as your role remember mafia likes being leaders or quiet don’t push the middle go for quiet but don’t vote them or push a jailor to make them think your evil

Here’s what I do to help mediums. First, wait until D2. Most blackmailers are noobs and will reveal themselves early by blackmailing N1. If there are no blackmailers, whisper the jailor a code word. When you die, you should tell mediums the code word in dead chat. Then, jailor can confirm which mediums are real, and which are fake. I keep forgetting to use this strategy when I get the chance tho lol

Medium is good against 4 of the game roles Serial killer if they are role blocked by escort, consort, jailor, or pirate (yes jailing and pirating count as rbs) Janitor Medusa Ambusher Forger Then again, against janitor, forger and medusa their factions can silence you by cleaning or stoning your corpse and now you can only reveal their victim(s)' role(s), or who the ambusher is with a seance. But then again you may seance a maf or coven member by accident without a confirmed tp, and then they refuse to tell the town what the stoned or cleaned role's is Edit: oops, forgot about forger

I had done it once. Never managed to pull it off the second time. I had gotten info from a dead pmer that someone was mayor, I told the mayor next day in whispers about it which confirmed me one way or the other, and somehow I managed to pull through that game (avoided getting voted out after a weak claim)
