In this video on typhoid, i have talked about typhoid fever treatment and management guidelines in detail. i have also discussed severe typhoid (Quinolone resistant typhoid) Treatment and extensively Drug-resistant typhoid fever treatment. I have discussed symptoms, and clinical presentation of typhoid according to a week of salmonella Typhi infection. Pathogenesis of salmonella typhi and transmission of typhoid fever and typhoid vaccination is also explained. How to treat typhoid patients in hospital as well as in OPD is explained. This video is part of my medicine lectures series on infectious medicine which is a very high-yield chapter for USMLE step 2 CK as well as NCLEX, NLE, and neet pg exams.

I see typhoid cases every day.. here in South sudan, we use Widal test... and widal tend to be positive whenever blood smear for malaria parasite is ++ and after treating malaria alone, the widal results changes to negative and the patient improves.... Please can you help me clarify.. or try finding out? Thank you for your endless education

Yes, that's very true. Amazing piece of information in comments section Drag seri. Cross reacting antibodies are produced in malaria that can cause a false positive widal test. 😊

Typhidot(IgG, IgM) is available now in rural areas. Typhidot is more convinient than Widal.

Sir I had typhoid back 2015 I made the blood culture test and I took antibiotics and I was fine. But last month I had fever I went to the hospital they test the widal test and find typhoid o antigen 1/160 they gave me triaxone 1 g injection 3 and ciprocin 500 mg 10 days -2 per day but after one month yesterday I tasted and the repot is worst in widal typhoi o antigen 1/80 typhoid o antigen 1/160 as like first test paratyphoid A normal 1/40 but B 1/80 so this test is current or I have go for blood culture test because you said it’s normal when you had typhoid before widal test will be positive always and I am completely okey no symptoms.
