IMPORTANT CLINICAL POINTS: If a patient is taking a statin drug (eg, atorvastatin). Donot use Clarithromycin, because clarithromycin decreases metabolism of statins in body, therefore, increasing blood levels of statin and can result in Statin induced myopathy. Sir...if community acquired pneumonia occurs by strep pneumoniae then why we are giving Azithromycin ....becoz Azithromycin to less effective hoti hai against gram positive cocci??

So after he finished his 5 day amoxicillin and azitromycin his symptoms got worse over the next 3 days without any meds and his temperature still spiked once again which required Tylenol. So now he is on a 10 regimen of Levaquin. I’m praying this works and stops his pneumonia
