Can it be caused by environmental allergens and not food allergy? It's been 2 years that I get the symptoms (mostly chest pains / acid reflux) when I am at my workplace. When I am away from work for a long period I feel much better and symptoms go away after a few days. I go back to work and the symptoms come again! 😢 Can it be linked to hyperhomocysteinemia?

Amoebiasis is not typically associated with a significant increase in eosinophils. This is because E. histolytica is a protozoan parasite, not a helminth (worm).

It's rare condition caused by eosinophils and allergic reaction damages gastrointestinal tract. Treatment is avoid trigger foods and prednisone.

Thank you for your reply. I am on a elimination diet of 5 foods. Milk, (all dairy product), eggs, nuts, gluten, shellfish for 6 weeks. It seems to improve if I stay on it very strictly so far but I have not been able to find the item that causes my allergy if that is the problem. I have been on a few courses of prednisone in the last 4 months as that was the only thing that stopped the gastro. If you come across any further information of my condition I will be very greatfull if you could let me know. Kind regards Delia (South Africa)
