I’m on the 780g g4 cgm closed loop and for me it’s been life changing

I waited years for the integration of the CGMS into the Omnipod. I never wanted to use a tubed pump, and never did, never will. It would be nice to see more competition for the tubeless design.
@Nerdabetic9 ай бұрын
Yes we need more competition. Glad to have mobi from tandem, Kaleido, Solo. More coming!

Very interested in the 800 series from Medtronic but being that small will it be totally controlled by an app? I am dead set against that because they will insist you never update your phone and that is the largest security risk possible for a device that holds all our personal data.
@dwightl58639 ай бұрын
Tandem has been good in getting their app upto speed after a new iOS update. Dexcom not so much. Still hasn't been updated to the new iOS and it has been months!
@Nerdabetic9 ай бұрын
Yeah so phone control is a very complicated thing. I hate that companies tend to only support expensive phones. On the flip side, those smartphones get software updates and can support the app for years. Companies most definitely should provide a lot more support to older phones and options for individuals without phones.
@thorritz85209 ай бұрын
Fully phone app controlled? As someone who wants lastest security updates on phone and lastest upgrades to operating software on their android phone it's almost impossible to get phone pump app to operate as the companies never allow newest operating system to function with their app. Example, tandem allows busing from phone app but not on newest upgrade. Medtronic will be even worse based on my past experiences. I finally jail broke my system to get glucose on my watch several years ago. It made my life so much easier to see glucose levels at a glance. Only recently has it become more essy to do this on Android watches.

Thankful for the Omnipod 5. Would like more similar options, but we've been happy with the OP5.

I'm on the Medtronic system mostly because that's who my Endocrinologist connected me with almost 4 years ago. My diagnosis was type TWO diabetes 25 years ago. Several years ago my new and current endocrinologist changed my diagnosis to type 1 and suggested a pump. I just trusted that he knew what my insurance would cover. I'm a lifelong resident of the USA and here everything is very expensive and most of us have to accept what our insurance wants us to use. The different big companies make deals with the other big companies. I didn't even know at the time that there were so many different companies making devices. What should I request now and why because supposedly it's after 4 years that you might have the option of making changes and for me that is in about 1 month.

I do understand why Medronic wants to remove screen from 800 series pump. I just think it a backstep as it enforces the need of a mobile for control. There are times when we don't have mobile on hand and may need to manually control or suspend etc.
@Nerdabetic9 ай бұрын
From the photo it looks like there are some buttons on the pump, we do not know what they do. They likely provide some control

Medtronic can’t keep up with new tech and sensors that work. It’s sad because they were #1 10 years ago.

Hello, the only thing I want is to be as far away from medtronic products and as soon as I can. I couldn't care less about their new stuff.
@thorritz85209 ай бұрын
I couldn't agree more. I found them so frustrating over the years. From poor customer service to really bad CGM to frustrating alarms. So glad I got onto tandem t-slim.
@russellseaton20149 ай бұрын
@@thorritz8520 True true true. Except for your comment on customer service. Whenever I called them up, which was frequent, they were the best customer service in the world. Obviously the customer service people were exact opposite of the people who designed their pump and CGMS. Super glad I got out of the 670 pump. Much better control with Tandem and Dexcom.

I really agree. But I was already an happy EOPatch user before Medtronic bought the rights to distribute the EOPatch for USA. I hate that I can't use the EOPATCH anymore.
@dawnb22249 ай бұрын
Agreed. Of my only choice would be medtronic then I would go on MDI. Their products since they started have been junk for me and put me in more diabetes issues than I have ever in all my 49 years had. Love my Tandem pumps.

Such a sad news i was very excited for this macht up. Medtronic tibeless pump would be amazing
@gurugamer86329 ай бұрын
How do you think the pumps would be like in 6 years and what new features would we have?
@joaocapote848421 күн бұрын
Only a question... It seems that European regulators are putting several issues on "mobile bolus" features. If this remains, devices like tandem mobi or omnipod 5 cannot be used in Europe without a PDM. I have a tandem tslim:x2 and I cannot bolus from android phone. If I could, it would be much easier for example, use the pump in my arm. Furthernore, In my opinion, another device to carry, another device to charge, another device to pay attention to.
@devnull32789 ай бұрын
Any updates on the Accu-Check/Roche pump? I may be the only person in the US who's excited for this...but the 45-degree angle on the Omnipod is an issue for me.
@gurugamer86329 ай бұрын
Medtronic is the least innovative now. Was the pump leader and now behind. Pumps like Omnipod 5 have most customers now.
@lynnshell789 ай бұрын
let's not forget the lawsuit by insulet (omnipod) to medtronic and eflow over the patch omnipod won the lawsuit so I am thinking they will go after tandem next or roche (accu check) with the solo pump the patch pump could get very hard to get into if omnipod has there way

Yes, €738 m lawsuit. This pump was already removed from sale in Germany
