I like to think the reason why some demigods still fall for Medusa's signature move even though they're taught about her, and she pretty iconic already, is because even though their training tells them to not look at her, their brain is like "you should turn around and see." Some are just lucky that their brain tells them fight strategies in that instant instead of going for adhd self-sabotage moment.

You should do a couple "Day in the Life at Camp Half Blood" xD the lava climbing wall, selfie running with the flag while some Ares kids are chasing you. Archery practice. Canoeing, and you look down to see a naiad under the water. The cups at dinner that refill themselves. There's lots of fun ideas. Obviously this one requires more costuming and props (greek armor, archery stuff, swords, etc). But at least location is way easier. Just find a forest, and you don't have to do as much set extension/replacement.
